THIS A REALLY NEAT LAMP. YOU HAVE MULTIPLE POSITIONS AND CAN SET IT ON EITHER END. THE CON: THE LIGHT REFLECTS OFF OF THE GREEN CAGE AND HAS A GREEN HUE IF USED AS MODERN INDOOR LIGHT FOR A MODERN INDUSTRIAL DESIGN. THE LAMPS COULD BE STACKED AND WIRED TOGETHER TO MAKE A LAMP TREE (ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE SKILLS) AS A CREATIVE DESIGN OPTION. THE LAMP BOX SAYS THAT IT COMES WITH FOUR/BULBS WHEN IN FACT THERE WERE TWO/2 BULBS INSIDE THE LAMP DEPT. I HAVE SENT A EMAIL TO AMAZON THAT I FEEL IF THE BOX SAYS IT COMES WITH FOUR BULBS BUT ONLY TWO ARRIVED I SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO WHAT THE BOX STATES. NO ON/OFF BUTTON TO WEAR OUT. IN MY CASE I OFTEN ADD SWITCHES TO MOST OF MY ELECTRICAL DEVICES, SO THE ORIG SWITCHES NEVER BREAK OR WEAR OUT. AS USUAL IT PUTS OUT A LOT OF HOT HEAT AND SHOULD NOT BE USED AROUND SMALL CHILDREN & PETS HAVE THE SENSING ABILITY TO NOT GET CLOSE TO A HOT ITEM. PLEASE NOTE: THE LAMP IS SITTING ON A PLASTIC TABLE RIGHT NOW, THE HEAT FROM THE LIGHT DOES NOT MAKE THE TABLE WARM OR HOT. COMMON SENSE, DO NOT PUT ANY HALOGEN CLOSE TO ANYTHING THAT MIGHT IGNITE INTO A FIRE! I HAVE OTHER HALOGEN LIGHTS & HAVE BOUGHT THE SIX PACK "BULB BUDDY"500 WATT HALOGEN BULB SPARES (I THINK $12.99 AT AMAZON) RATED FOR 2000 HRS OF USE WITH A HIGH GRADE LONG LASTING FILAMENT) I HIGHLY REC YOU HAVE ADDL BULBS ON HAND VS THE CHEAP BULBS THAT HAVE COME WITH SOME HALOGENS. ***IT IS SMALLER THAN I THOUGHT THE PICTURE DEPICTED*** FOR ME THIS IS A PRO PLUS+++ IT IS STURDY WITH STRONG SPRINGS NOT WIMPY SPRINGS. IT IS NOT A BEAST LIKE THE PICTURE MAY MAKE YOU THINK. THE INCREDIBLE RANGE OF POSITION OPTIONS IS A REALLY PRO+++ FEATURE. SOME ARE CALLING THE DESIGN A "GLADIATOR CAGE" I THINK IT WAS LOWES OR HOME DEPOT THAT WAS SELLING THE SAME ITEM FOR 59.00 VS 39.00 AT AMAZON. P.S., I JUST ORDERED 3/THREE MORE FOR A TOTAL OF FOUR/4. I WANT TO USE THIS HALOGEN IN AS MANY CREATIVE AND WORK RELATED WAYS AS POSSIBLE.

This is a great work light. I'm using it outside to help advance an extensive landscaping project. No need now to quit on a nice day when it gets dark at 5:45 pm; I just hook the light up to an outdoor extension cord and keep working.No assembly required; just pop in the 500-watt halogen bulb. Not even a screwdriver needed for that; there's an easy hand screw to open and close the glass cover. Up and running in two minutes out of the box.The light is very bright: plenty bright enough to install edging, shovel and wheelbarrow mulch, gravel, or dirt, work on a retaining wall, or do any project in one general area. The light casts a wide beam, about 90 degrees. It sits with stability on any ground. It's extremely light to pick up and move around. The cage works well to adjust the beam up or down: no need to fiddle with screws and hinges, just position the whole thing so the light is angled as you want it. It's really quite a brilliant design. Looks great too. I'm delighted with it.

A painter that we hired brought one of these into our house and after checking it out I knew I needed to have one. This is such a versatile design and can be stood on any of its angles, even the side. We've used it on shelves when we were refinishing the floors, hung it with a large carabiner when bathrooms were being remodeled. The spring mounting is the smartest idea as it greatly reduces the shock to the bulb element reducing the chance of premature failure due to getting knocked around. The cage doubles as a safety measure as it keeps most items at a distance since this utilizes a bright 500W bulb, which by design is hot. The included spare lamp (and storage for it on the cage) is very handy when my lamp finally burned out after many hours of use. Swapping out the lamp was easy as the knob and hinge is well designed.The power cord is very sturdy and sufficient in length. The only MINOR downfall is the lack of a power switch.In summary I would highly recommend this light and would replace it in a second if anything were to happen to it.

Fantastic. Gets a bit hot, but otherwise it's great. MUCH cheaper replacing 500W bulbs than the 250W in most trouble lights.
