Muy Agradable Selección

This CD has many of my favorite disco tunes. Unfortunately some of the songs do not have the best of quality, otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

Great music

Several years ago I purchased this CD and always enjoyed listening to the old fun disco music with my wife. I accidentally scratched the disk and got some annoying skips when playing so I was very happy to find the CD still available on Amazon to purchase, yeah! The CD arrived well packaged and in perfect condition, including the case and we enjoyed dancing to it again this weekend. Well worth the money :-)

The dvd case was broken in transit but the disc works fine.

I’m one of those people who fondly remember Disco music, and still like it. I really like the selections on this cd.

This CD is part of a set of 3. Pop it in and dance up a storm, or clean house! Impossible to sit still! My only criticism is that it was not long enough or more comprehensive in the selections. One or two of the songs were repeated in another disc in the set. But, on the whole, colour me happy!

A few years ago I purchased a copy of Pure Disco Vol 1 to get Barry White's You're the First, The Last, My Everything. Now I'm not a big Disco fan (Admittly) but I took a look at Pure Disco vol 2 and found that I wanted Flashdance and Upside Down by Dianna Ross. I didn't even know that there was a Vol. 3 out there until I found it on Amaazon a few days back. I had to have (the Philadelpha sound of) When will I see you again by the Three Degrees. Another goodie was Gloria Gaynor's Never Can Say Goodbye. I also like The Miracle's Love Machine. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is plenty of good stuff on all three volumes. Even if you're not a big Disco fan there is something there for you. The recording quality is excellent on all three volumes and all the music is the original recordings.

Since Rhino's "The Disco Years" set has been out of print, this series is probably the most popular replacement for disco music. There are 3 CD's in this series and this is the 3rd one.All 3 CD's are good and almost every song was a big hit BUT not all songs were truly considered DISCO. For example, the film and songs from Grease were indeed very popular at the time, but they were not considered DISCO. "Grease is the word" sung by Franki Valli was a Bee Gees track that had disco dance elements but "Summer Nights", "Greased Lightning" and "You're the One That I Want" have nothing to do with disco. Yet TWO of the 3 CD's in this series contain bonus tracks of Grease remixes.The choices of DISCO songs was best on the first CD and gets weaker on each successive CD. The non-disco songs were still big dance hits at the time but not really disco songs.Even though this is a disco collection, there are no Bee Gees on any of the CD's so you'd have to augment your collection with a Bee Gees CD. You should also pick up a KC & The Sunshine Band CD and a Donna Summer CD. You could also add to that a Casablanca Records collection, which should include some more Chic, and some Gamble and Huff (the Sound of Philadelphia).I've heard that this 3rd CD has been discontinued so you may want to pick it up ASAP. Also, if you like this series, there is one more CD called "Pure Funk" that you will likely enjoy. The price on each if these CD's is quite good and you get about 20 songs on each. You'd have a good 70's party music collection with these 4 CD's. Enjoy!
