A Bouquet of a Thousand Flowers: Art of Senbon Umishima (Japanese Edition)

I bought this on a whim and was not disappointed. The art inside is fantastic and bursting with color. Although, be aware there is SOME PG-13 content within the pages. There's no full on nudity, but there is a bit of titillating imagery.

First of all, the work of this artist is amazing, that alone makes the purchase worth it. But also, the layout of the book is fantastic, it has little but meaningful text (and almost everything has an english translation) and the print quality is amazing.

I remember when I discovered this artist on Tumblr. His drawings are fluid and seem to move across the page. Bursting with color, when you think you've seen it all try again. This book is full of beautiful surprises on quality paper that will keep you coming back for more. Kinda wish I waited for a hardcover edition, because I'm clumsy and do not want to damage the book. Overall, I'd buy another one of his books in a heartbeat, very inspiring.

A great book

El libro me ha encantado, y además, llegó casi 2 semanas antes de lo previsto! Así que una sorpresa muy grata.

届いてすぐ、厚さに驚きました。この値段で…！？中身も盛りだくさんで、充実した内容で素晴らしかったです。うっとりするようなオシャレで魅力的なイラストから、お仕事のキャラデザ、スケッチ、新作漫画まで収録されていました。量が多い、ありがたい。この作家さんは色遣いは勿論、キャラクターのイキイキとした線や、人物になじむ背景も魅力だと思っていたので、元アニメーターさんだったと知って納得しました。とにかく買ってよかったなと満足できる作品集でした。

最初は花、髪、衣装の組み合わせで、おまけとして背景、猫もありましたw。どちらもきれいに描かれていて、癒される感じです。個人的に動きを表現するその、線の弾き方がとても素敵です。

アニメーターの方(買った後に知りました)だからか、絵の作りがシンプルです。故に良い。動作の表現も、アニメーターの視点をみているようで楽しくなります。複雑なものを簡単に見せる努力が詰まっていてとても好きになりました。

印刷も、作品自体も素晴らしいです。先生が描いた美しい少女の姿がたくさん、大変満足した。
