Scalextric Stock Car Challenge 1:32 Race Track Slot Car Set C1383T Yellow & Black

We have had hours of fun with this slot car racing set. The track is made well and the banked turns simulate real racing. The track was a bit slippery at first and cars would fishtail thru the turns. Seemed like the track was oily. They may have oiled the molds during manufacturing to keep the plastic from sticking. After cleaning it and the car’s tires, they handed much better. We cleaned the rear tires by rolling them on duct tape. The cars have a plastic chassis and do not seem to be a high quality product, however, their performance is impressive.

This was more than I expected. I am pleased. It is ONLY 110v by they way. It is great. Super easy to assemble. It only works plugged in. A little much for a 4 and 6 year old just because they saw no difference between this and the Hot Wheels race track and they prefer the hot wheels 30 dollar race track. Very nice however. Stick with the age rating

Good beginner set takes up little space

Easy project to put together. Size of cars were surprisingly larger then I thought! Grandchildren love it!

Not the quality these used to be! Like other reviewers have said, the controllers don’t always work smoothly and have to be held a certain way to work. Worse than that, one of the cars broke the second time the set was used- a metal terminal on a wire inside the car failed. Very disappointed with Scalextric.

I was skeptical about the quality of this slot car racing kit given the price. I owned one when I was a kid and wanted to share that joy with my 9-year-old son, trying to get him off his iPad, iPhone, etc. The quality of the track is pretty decent but the controllers and the cars are quite entry level given the price of the set. This would not necessarily be a problem, except in our case, one of the controllers works very intermittently. It seems to have a contact issue internally causing it to short out or stop delivering power to the cars. When it works it is great. Need to see if there are some higher quality controllers available.
