but otherwise the rack seems sturdy and strong enough for my needs
Shipping was outstanding....received WAY before expected. Though I could of got this slightly cheaper on another site, the free shipping more than made up for it and ended up saving money there. With that, as for the product...my only complaint is the brackets. I wish they were more adjustable, but I assume that's the normal with these racks. I do have to do some alterations, as they are just too long, but otherwise the rack seems sturdy and strong enough for my needs. I wish there was a place to easily set up my back light on this, but hopefully only a small issue I have to trouble shoot too.Otherwise, it is what it is...just a simple rack, doesn't feel or seem cheap. I will revise if that turns out to be the case, but as of now-seems very solid and well built. I look forward to using it as soon as I get the brackets shortened to work with my trike.Added: I did get the rack on. Was more of a pain because of the brackets. Had to use a hacksaw to cut them shorter, and still ended up going a tad too short. My error there though, but it should still work just fine with a slight slant [I could fix this by ordering new brackets or cutting off a tad on the rods leading to the tire area, but I think I will just live with it...long as it works, that's all that matters].Otherwise, just wanted to add a picture and everything above remains the same.

Works but needs work
As pictured the rack would rate four to five stars, but the rack we received had and added item that just plain got in the way. We live in the foothills of the Cascade range so rain is a common occurance, therefore fenders on a bike are common. The rack we received had a reflector mount, not pictured in the ad, welded to the center of the rear horizontal bar that hung down at least two inches making mounting difficult on a woman's bike. The mount tab is made of approximately 1/8" steel so it doesn't bend by hand but it was bendable with a medium crescent wrench. Had the designers put some thought into it they could have come up with a better solution such as making the rack straight at the rear instead of bendimg downward.Bottom line, the rack works but if your bike has fenders you might have a problem mounting it, or you may have to mount it a couple of inches higher than you like to allow clearence for the reflector mount.

Design Flaw
Bad design, this is an accident waiting to happen. The arms attach to the bike frame but then don't bolt to the rack. The arms only stay on braced against a tiny rubber stopper. If those stoppers pop off the whole thing will fall and hit the wheel.

Good Rack
I waited several months before writing this review. I put approximately 400 miles on my bike and the rack is holding up very well. I would highly recommend this rack. Good product, good price.
