Best running shoe I've ever bought.
I used to swear by a certain brand. They used to make a high end model but suddenly discontinued it. I'm sure glad that they did! For years I've heard about the Kayano line so when it was time to switch brands, I thought I'd give it a shot.First some stats: Male, early 30s, moderate build, run maybe once or twice a week between 3-8 miles. These are my SECOND pair of Kayano 19s. I am training for a marathon and wouldn't want any other model than the Kayano 19.The shoe fits perfectly from the time you put them on. The do not run small or big. If you are a 7.5, get a 7.5 (if you can't get to a store and try them on which is the BEST thing to do before you buy a running shoe). There is no 'breaking in' period. They are comfortable from the first time you run in them and remaining comfortable throughout. Personally, if a salesperson suggests to you that a shoes has a 'breaking in' period I think they're trying to sell you swamp land. High end running shoes do not need to be broken in!The mesh makes them very breathable. Your feet will not over heat. I've had my first pair for over a year and the uppers look like new. The outsole has worn down, but that is because of extensive use over the last year. They wear less than my previous brand's outsoles for comparison. The upper part of the heal support is rigid. I made the mistake of slipping on the shoe (instead of untying the laces and putting them on properly) and the back of the heal support bent inwards a bit. However, this was my fault for trying to save a minute by slipping them on instead of taking the time to untie them, put them on and tie them. This slight bend did not affect the comfort/performance of the shoe.Lastly, as someone who was never a runner and slowly (and painfully) increased my mileage over the last 2 years, there is something that needs to be said about pain. If you are a beginner (or even someone who runs regularly and wants to increase mileage) you have to understand that there will be pain. Your knees might hurt. Your back might hurt. Your shins might hurt. This does not mean there is something wrong with your shoe! These are the normal pains associated with getting in shape. Blaming the shoe is just an excuse to not get in shape because people say "I just can't find the right shoe" and quit. Running and being in shape is not just about having the right shoe. Educate yourself about nutrition, water intake and training moderation while you are on your journey to get fit (or get fitter). That's all part of it. There is no one path to the goal. If the Kayano doesn't work for you, there's probably not a shoe out there that will.

great shoes, just what I expect from Asics
These shoes are a great all around activity shoe. They meet a comfortable balance between being light weight, durable, and comfortable. The shoes fit exactly as I expected them to and matched the previous Asics sizes. I bumped up from the Asics 17 to the 19 for this most recent purchase. I did so to achieve a higher level of cushion and support as my activities become more demanding on my feet. The quality of the materials is on par with the rest of the Asics line. I have found that I can get somewhere around a year of use out of them before they begin to deteriorate. While some might consider this to be a relatively short amount of time, consider that I use these shoes for the following activities: running/walking, hiking, basketball, yard work, working out, and more. I don't care to spend money on several types of shoes, so I expect a great deal out of the few I own.The support in these shoes is spectacular. These shoes take the pounding of my 215 lb frame like champs. The amount of gel in these 19s makes the constant pounding on concrete more than tolerable. I tend to walk on the outsides of my feet and because of this I can develop pain in that area. The shape and support of the shoes helps me to correct this issue and reduce any pain I experience when on my feet for extended periods of time. One common complaint I hear from people is that the shinier areas of the shoe tend to show wear worse than other shoes. Personally I don't care too much about this as these shoes are my workhorses for workouts, backpacking, etc. I don't believe they show nearly the amount of wear that people complain about. I will say that the yellow color on the black/lightning/blue design may not have been the best choice given the amount of dirt and dust which collects on the shoes during use. As I said before, I care very little about slight wear and discoloration, but I can understand consumer frustration here.Overall, the shoes are a great buy for the money. They will stand up to constant beating and remain comfortable and supportive for a long time. You may experience slight discoloration with heavy use and noticeable wear and tear. However, like I said before, these shoes are meant to take a beating and see you through workouts, hiking, running, etc. Bottom line, buy them!

fantastic product
These running shoes are as amazing as ever! Top quality ..brilliant fit for my narrow feet and great for pronation. I did have problems with the supplier - Millets - for the first time. I was sent a male shoe due to how the item is listed and their replacement was painfully slow and they even asked for more postage .... which I refused. Shame because they've always been good in the past.

Running Shoe
Good arch support, something that they are not used to and will take a while to get used to. Often the left foot aches and is painful. That seems to have stopped since wearing these shoes regularly. The souls are quite rigid unlike the gt range. So this is giving more support. These feel firm around the foot and are well supported. A good buy for weak feet.

Very comfortable but keep your toenails very short indeed!
Second pair I've had and once again my toe has gone through the mesh top after a few months wear. Will be going back to more durable trainers in future.
