Baby Journal: The Story of... Diary – May 7, 2013

I wanted a baby book that would not require scrupulous record keeping or tons of work. I looked at many different options and found a lot that were cheesy, or seemed too time consuming for a sleep-deprived new mother. This journal is an easy way to hold onto some of my favorite moments as a parent. I will cherish this book as my son grows! The illustrations are charming and every detail is at once practical and adorable. The little envelopes to save things like a lock of hair, our hospital bracelets etc. are genius!

I bought this for my youngest son. As the other reviewer said, I wish I'd paid closer attention to the dimensions. For near $20 I was expecting something bigger and with a hard cover. The illustrations are lovely, and I like that it's more artsy than cute. There are more than a few pages dedicated to breastfeeding and how tos which I found odd for a baby journal, but we'll see. The pockets are nice, but they won't hold much more than a few photos/paper memorabilia. Honestly if this were the only baby book I'd used I'd probably be more impressed.I used Amy Nebens Baby's Record Book with my oldest son and I liked it a lot better. It's bigger, has a hard cover, and has accordion pockets big enough to hold his first outfit. Plus that one covers the first 5 years while this one ends after the first year.Edit at 6/25/14Now that my son is here and I'm using it, I thought I would mention that the height/weight charts are in metric. So heads up on that my fellow Americans.

Quite a fun baby journal, if a bit small in terms of space. The design, however, is loads of fun and doesn't follow the usual pink and blue that often plagues this type of book.

Received this as a gift for our first child. Thought is was so cute, and full of so many great page ideas. Best of all, it’s not a massive clunky book like so many. After we had our second child, I had to have one for him too. The perfect little keepsake.

I wouldn't purchase this book again. I could get over the fact that it is smaller than most baby books, but the weight/height tracker is in kilograms and centimeters. I'm not going to spend the time to convert it to pounds and inches just so that I can use it.Also, like another reviewer mentioned, it has a page to record how well baby breastfed. For starters, not everyone breastfeeds and the pages are not removable, not without showing that a page was ripped out. More importantly, it's kind of a weird thing to remember? I mean, it's not the worst thing ever, but I can think of far better things to remember than if my baby breastfed well.I would look for another book. I like the idea of an offbeat, nontraditional book, but if this is it, I'll go the traditional route. I did like the Welcome Baby book by Dan Zadra. It's not as funky, but it's got cute illustrations and a very sweet feel to it.

I love this baby book! We were looking for something different and to match our quirky style. Most baby books out there are too cartoony, cutesy, and generic for our taste, but this matched perfectly. We can't wait to start filling it in. :)

I should have read other reviews more carefully to see that this book is very small - think Moleskine journal sized. The interior pockets for keepsakes are even smaller, more like 3 by 4, so not at all helpful for keeping things like art work or baby footprints from the hospital. I also didn't realize I would have to pay return shipping even though this is an Amazon Prime item. Otherwise, it is cute and whimsical, just not very practical for baby memorabilia unfortunately.

I was looking for something that was not "babyish" and this works great! It still has places for all of the important milestones and documents without being overly baby.
