Great phone - recommended
Nice phone but the battery doesn't last too long if you're using it regularly through the day. Also the fingerprint recognition is somewhat difficult to make work reliably. Great spec though

Brilliant Phone - Absolutely Amazing
Bought this phone to replace my old Note 4 which has now died. I am absolutely delighted with the Note 8 (Note 9 and Note 10 too expensive for me at the moment). Bought this phone directly from Amazon and it came in its UNOPENED Original Samsung Note 8 Box. It arrived on the stipulated date. In the Box : Note 8 Mobile Phone, a fast charger, charging USB cable, Headset/headphone, USB connector for using a different type of charging cable, USB connector for device to device exchange, pin for opening Sim and SD Card slot, Quick Start Guide and Warranty information. The 64 Gigabyte SD Card was also in the Amazon package box. You will need a UK/EU Sim Card to set up the phone, the set up process was very quick and easy. The phone has everything I could ask for in terms of apps and technology. The battery life is excellent and lasts longer than 24 hours on full charge, this is however dependent on how much you are using the phone during the day. When you connect the phone to the fast charger, it will let you know how long it will take for it to be fully charged. The phone is also set up for Wi-fi charging. You will need a good solid phone case/cover as the screen is curved glass. The phone is not too heavy and is slightly bigger than the Note 4. Photo quality is very good and photo editor is very useful and fun. The S Pen works perfectly as well, still need to explore some more. Overall very very very pleased with this new phone. I don't think that I will be replacing it for a very veeery long time, and I would definitely recommend it.

Good handset
If you skin is too dry or too much / little static or whatever which causes me problems with all touch screens, then there are not many choices of modern phones. Either Blackberry or this one with in-built. Already had Note 9 for the main number but wanted a secondary phone for 2nd number. It was either this one or Blackberry Key 2 LIte. As this has a good camera and Blackberry had no stock, chose this one.

Wanted to try a Samsung phone at a relatively cheap price
I got this phone as I have not used Samsung before, the biggest positive is the screen quality compared to something like the OnePlus 5 that I have and even the iphone XS for gaming and YouTube, having no notch getting in the way.The fingerprint scanner isn't in the best place (fixed by new version Note 9) and face unlock not as good/fast as the other phones I've mentioned. It is by far the largest phone I have used and does need 2 hands, mine being small.Coming from the OP5 the Samsamg version Android OS does seem to be a bit more bloated. It will be interesting to see how the somewhat older hardware copes six months down the line or a year and I've wondered if spending a bit more on the Note 9 or Galaxy S9 would have been better for the future but can't complain for now.

Great value product and design
Great phone for best value I found from the distributors. My second Samsung Note 8 phone. First one is still going after three years and no problems at all compared to my previous phones.

Really laggy - loads of features don’t work - but it’s Amazing!
##I have had this 4 weeks so this is a review update## I got this in May 2020 after looking at hundreds of reviews (owners, YouTube, online reviewers etc) and decided that a 3 year old flag ship phone would be better than a £300 new model.Cons1) my iris sensor doesn’t work2) the screen is really laggy and slow3) battery life is terrible - doesn’t last a day3) the finger print sensor is really poor - hardly ever works4) the finger print sensor location is a really bad5) it’s a finger print magnet6) buy a case and screen protection or you may face a massive repair bill7) will it get android 10? I doubt itPros1) The S pen,2) the camera3) the incredible screen (over 500 ppi)4) always on display5) the dual apps6) signal strengthOk some of the Note features (on my phone) don’t work and it’s not exactly a smooth o/s but it makes up for it in quality features. I would have sent it back as faulty - but I thought what phone could I buy with all these features for £300? None. So I I’ll keep it and hope a update down the line sorts out the bugs.4 week update......This phone is unusable! All the points that I thought I could live with are now a nightmare, it’s is laggy, sometimes unresponsive, the fingerprint sensor has a intermittent fault, the s-pen only works half the time, the screen card slot won’t accept the free 64gb sd card (it’ll take other ones) when an alarm goes of 10% of the time it won’t turn off! I have to turn the phone off to shut it up.I have never, ever, ever used a phone so buggy and laggy. If it wasn’t for the amazing (and it is amazing) camera I would have sent this back weeks ago.

A brilliant phone
The Galaxy 8 is nothing short of a pocket computer. A quite remarkable piece of engineering - and a great camera to boot. The only problem so far as I am concerned is its size. Much larger than my old Nokia but as the leather case I purchased for it doubles up as a wallet it means I can dispense with my wallet thus freeing up space for the bigger phone.

Excellent phone
Beautiful phone. Worth the money. All the features that I looked for in a phone are there in a Note 8.
