Nioxin System 1 Scalp + Hair Thickening Shampoo | For Natural Hair with Light Thinning | Strengthen Against Breakage with Niacinamide & Biotin

I have used Nioxin Cleanser, System 1 (which is for fine/Untreated/Normal to Thin hair). My hair is "untreated". I have always had baby fine hair. Also, my hair is on the oily side and anything will make it bog down and oily. This product does not make my hair do either of these two things. With my hair being untreated, I have always relied on "product" and Velcro rollers for uplift (I am very careful about taking the Velcro rollers out of my hair due to breakage). Unfortunately as a lot of women get older their hair gets thinner. I happen to fall into that category. Also I WAS having problems with it breaking off. I discovered this shampoo about six years ago. I used it steady for about three years. My hair quit breaking off and it looked and felt SO much healthier. I stopped using it for a few months thinking..."I will just buy OTC shampoo for a while". BIG MISTAKE!!!.... The next trip to my hairdresser she said that my hair was breaking off. She even asked if I was doing something different to my hair. I told her that I had stopped using my regular shampoo and I proceeded to tell her the name of it. She started raving about how good of a product it was. So I came home and ordered another bottle. I always order the 33.8 ounce and it lasts me for months. I mean like 6 months. And all you have to use is a dime size. I also am a everyday shampoo'er. Although I do not find that this is by no means a product that promises to make hair thicker... It does help with the over all problems for what it says... "Fine/untreated/normal to Thin hair"... I only have tried the Shampoo. I have not tried the other products that you can use with it... which is why the word "system" is in the name.....BUT! I am going to try in the near future. And when I do I will give an update on my review. Also, this shampoo has a peppermint / menthol feel to it on your scalp (only while you are soaped up. Not after you rinse). It also has a very pleasant smell. So bottom line...It is what it is and that is a GREAT SHAMPOO!!!UPDATE... they changed the formula it now makes my head itch. Just as well buy OTC shampoo for the same effect. Very Very sad because I have been using this product for years.

No dandruff. Very good lather for a dime amount of shampoo.(shoulder length hair) Cleans follicles to promote hair growth. No scent. Well worth the money.

The shampoo also leaves my scalp feeling really clean and refreshed, which I love.The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can be slightly drying if used daily, so I make sure to follow up with a good conditioner. OK, so this did not help my hair to thicken or grow back. But is did several wonderful things for my scalp. It is rather drying, so I only shampoo with it intermittently. A bit pricey for a shampoo, but I bought it on sale so it was affordable for me to try.Ever since I was a baby, I was allergic to some of the microorganisms that are a part of every person’s skin biome. This allergy resulted in dandruff, starting at age 13. For decades, I tried so many shampoos, both prescription and OTC. Many of them kept the dandruff in control for about 2 days. But this shampoo was different. It eliminated my dandruff. It is a strong shampoo and my theory is that it was able to get under the layer of skin containing dead cells, thus allowing the cells to be rinsed away. My dandruff is gone, and does not recur, but my scalp still gets irritated due the allergy. But it is so nice not to deal any more with the dandruff component of the problem.The next wonderful thing is that I used it on my underarms. I have not detected any odor since using this, but I still use a light amount of deodorant just to make sure. But on the few days that I forgot to use deodorant, there was no odor.If you try is, one of the things my dermatologist said is that each person’s skin is different, and what may work well for one person’s skin will not work for another. So no guarantees here, but I feel pleased that it helped me.
