Directions are important... but...
So I did not have the benefit of instructions. And of course, it was salty. Not being one to waste my money I used it to salt my pasta water and I occasionally threw one in the rice maker. And that was great. It worked well in both instances and gave things a slight sakura taste so I was happy. Then I went ahead and found some online instructions and it became wonderful! Now I know better but I still use a couple for my pasta water and fish them out before putting the sauce.

Salty & lovely
Very high in salt (obviously, the blossoms are preserved in salt) so do be sure to rinse them out and soak them for a few mins before using them. These create a gorgeous presentation for any meal, savory or sweet. Goes well on pudding, cookies, any kind of rice (like onigiri), as long as the salt has been mostly rinsed off and what it’s placed on can balance out the remaining saltiness. Not to be eaten straight out of the jar, lol.

Wasted a good $20 on this
I don’t usually write reviews, but I was so upset. I ordered this for a birthday gift, thinking it would be a great gift for a close friend. Got it this evening, and opened to find the bottle covered in salt and looks like it’s been compromised/opened.Was hoping to return or for a replacement/refund so I can get one that isn’t possibly opened but I can’t even do that. Extremely disappointed; and now am out about $20 for something I can’t even be sure is safe to use/send.

It's an Aquired Taste
I want to make this clear. This is an aquired taste which will still be a little salty when rinsed. If you're expecting something sweet and floral, this is not for you. You should find some Sakura/Yīnghuā that is preserved using sugar instead. It is one of those tisanes that are served during special occasions and is kind of novelty. What I would say is that the majority of people should try it if they're not the ones buying it (if that makes any sense). The tisane itself has some prevalent aromas, especially from the blossoms, and the flavor is like a broth almost. It's something you drink slowly like gyokuro except there's no umami.I can't say that I would recommend it or not recommend it but you should try it at least once.

Follow directions!
I'd never had this type of tea, so I read up on it before making it and was sure to do the rinse first. After that, when we tried the tea, we thought it was very nice, a very subtle and delicate flavor, very floral and pleasant. Then on a whim, I tried taking a sip of the first steep and realized why it is that people complain the tea is salty or bitter. The first steep tastes like ocean water, but the second is very mild, very nice, and certainly makes it feel like a special occasion.

Too sour for my taste and believe me that is way too sour!
I am unsure what this goes with maybe nothing, but maybe I can mix it in some cool drinks later we'll see honestly I tried it by itself and it's awful, crazy strong! The sourness is just UGH! My taste buds are not happy about this one and that is something to say because I do love strong sour flavours and such but this is just too much, I really do think it will work better combined with either food or some cool drinks your choice but just don't try it by itself you will regret it!

Worked well, good flavor.
Use these to make cherry blossoms simple syrup for a cocktail. Flowers opens up well and had a great taste and amazing look when floating to the top.

2 for 1!
I was looking for Cherry Blossoms for my crafts but however came across this tea so I just said why not purchase, I love tea anyways. Not that I have Cherry Blossoms now for my crafts once I dry them etc but I also have some really great tasting tea lol I however did rinse the salt off of these before putting in water & I might try it without rinsing it next time. Definitely would buy again :)
