Army Airborne PT, Hiking, Mountain trail running, going through rivers rock climbing these laces handled it all.
I had a pair of Helly Hanson waterproof trail running shoes and the camo Xtenex 300 laces. These were my PT shoes in the Army and I also used when hiking and trail running around Italy and back home in Washington. They are awesome. The most comfortable my shoes have ever been and they were always securely on my foot, never too tight or too loose, literally hugged my foot perfect for all types of trails. My shoes are now in the trash from literally falling apart and the tread is completely gone. The laces are still great except for the plastic tips on ends of laces so I'm buying a new pair for my new HH trail shoes and will probably get new tips for old laces and put them on my GI boots. I had the shoes and laces for 3+ years and literally ran the shoes into the dirt and abused the crap out of them. The laces lasted longer than the shoes. Definitely a great buy!!

Makes removing your boots so easy!
I used these on the Camino de Santiago with hiking boots that were just at the ankle (not over the ankle). These made it so I could step on the heel of my boot and slip out of them with no hands. I did this several times each day, Much more than I would have if i had been using regular laces. My boots had open sided speed laces on the top and to put the boots back on I would unhook the lace from top speed lace and slid my foot back in. Then stretch these laces back over the top speed lace. I walked 400 miles and they held up well. I will buy them again.

love it.. never again with normal laces.
These truly change the work. Tight enough for running and work outs. Comfortable enough for everyday...Every pair of shoes from now and for ever... nothing beats these. Used them in 2 pairs of Nikes and 2 pairs of Underarmor shoes. Wife uses them for her hiking boots (different model) and her daily wear and gym shoes. No regerts* :-)

So far so good:-)
I bought a pair of these for my work boots - length 40". I really like how they look in my boots and the feel gives my boot a entirely different feel. IMO the boot actually conforms and hugs my foot better and in places that make the boot feel more comfortable and secure.Installing the laces was a snap and the length was perfect; not to long and not to short. If the longevity is there I may never use regular laces again:-) I'll update in about 90 days to let y'all know how they're working out:-)

I bought a pair of these for one pair of trainers and liked them so much that I wanted a pair for my others. The silver perfectly matched the detail in the shoes as hoped. The initial lacing process is tedious, especially for arthritic fingers, but I was able to use my other pair of trainers as a template for the spacing so I could get the appropriate tension/fit. It's worth the time it takes to do this following the directions. I have had both hips replaced and bending to tie shoes is neither easy nor safe. These laces and a long-handled shoehorn make putting on and wearing trainers easy again.

Best laces you can buy
I’m a professsional firefighter and I use these in my station boots. When we get a call, we have to take off our boots quickly, in order to put on our bunker pants and fire boots. These make that process much easier. The most important thing, for me, is that these laces allow me to slip my boot back on without untying, like I did with my tennis shoes when I was a kid. Except these laces keep the boot snug on my foot, as if I had just re-tied them.I bought my first pair of Xtenex laces in 2007, and I still have them in a pair of shoes I wear almost daily. They’re durable, and the laces don’t move unless you move them- which you can, to customize the fit.Awesome product, I can’t recommend them enough!

My first elastic lace and I'm hooked!
This is my first purchase of an elastic style lace for my running shoes, so I can't really say how they compare with other brands, but I am very happy with them so far. My only caution is that it is easy to install them too tightly if you aren't careful.I've run several 3 to 4 mile stretches outside and on a treadmill and they keep my shoes secure and easy to put on and remove. I will certainly buy these again if they are durable enough to last as long as my shoes.

I started my tri season with these laces in my racing flats and thought they were quality and comparable to the other brands of speed laces. During the season I developed Morton's neuroma (completely unrelated to the laces), which requires the toe box on my shoes to be very loosely laced. Only this brand, with the placement "knots", kept the toe box loose enough to prevent discomfort while letting me keep the upper snug and keep the transition speed from elastic laces. They take a bit more set-up time, but once set up, your shoes will fit the same every time.

Expensive but the best
Costly for what they are but have solved the problem with speed laces and very comfortable. I had normal elastic laces with a press/slide lock but it was always slipping. It was ok but I was sure it would come off over a long race or if not paying attention. These Xtenex laces have resolved it all. Bit of a pain to fit, I found you have to kind of stretch the lace while threading it through (so you need to pull on both ends while sliding it through the lace holes in your shoe - either get help from someone else or use your feet to tread on the shoe!) because pulling both ends flattens the 'knot' to near nothing so it will go through. Do not yank it hard as you will chew up the knot or rip your shoes. Anyway, this is a perfect time-saver for triathlon transaction and the hold your feet well - as the marketing says, you get the right tension at each knot level from bottom up to the top, not just as the laces fall which means more efficient running and no chance of your shoes coming off or losing the lock.

Good quality laces
Purchased the yellow laces as the Nike trainers I was wearing at the time had a nasty habit of coming undone, and I had a couple of cross country runs to take part in. Though I guess a little expensive for laces, these were actually pretty good. I hadn't used these kind of laces before, so I was having no end of problems threading these through - of course it was all a lot easier once I'd actually read the instructions and stretched the laces before threading them.No problems during runs, if you tweak it a bit here and there to get the fit right, it keeps the shoe nice and tight, while staying comfortable - and essentially turns your trainer into a slip-on. They got a little muddy once, but they washed fine and kept their form. I would recommend these, though worth noting that the yellow laces I received didn't quite match the colour of the ones in the picture - I'd say they were closer to the colour of the Amazon stars.

Lace end doesn’t fit through eyelets
I’ve used this style of laces for years and adore them. When I bought a new pair of Aasics trainers, the first thing I did was to order these laces. Unfortunately, the end of the laces doesn’t fit though the eyelets of the trainers. Gutted!! I’m not sure if Aasics has changed their eyelets but either way I will need to consider a different style of laces for these trainers. Shame!

Innovative Quality product
I bought a pair at one of the exhibition stalls during Boston Marathon in Boston and it works perfectly! That's why I bought this again as I bought myself a new pair of trainers. Once you get it right you just slip on and off your trainers without having to untie them. Love them.

A game changer for runners
I have developed a bone spur on top of my foot which was getting sore during runs I messed around with skip lacing and the other types of elastic laces then arrived at these. Wow, now I can use all the eyelets of my trainers but can vary the tension around the bony bump. Amazing, I won't be without these from here on. Top tip, lace loosely and then tighten gradually to get the fit not the other way round as they are harder to slacken off.

All tied up!
They are great for Triathlon and Duathlon races and are much better than normal lock laces as you can use knots to provide different spacing between the lace holes to customise the fit to the shape of your foot. They are a little fiddly to insert into training shoes but once done no further adjustment is needed and you can be sure that they will provide a comfortable fit for the duration of your run however long it is.

Great Product...
I bought my first set of these laces 7 months ago. I've bought a new set with each pair of running shoes since.Once you've tried these, you struggle to go back to normal laces. Even tension, no chance of over or under tightening, no slapping around your ankles, no coming undone etc. They hold your shoe on as tightly or loosely as you want and can be adjust easily to suit. I have mine fairly tight, even still, I can pull the tongue and slip them on and off with ease. The little disappearing/reappearing knots are a touch of genius. The first pair I bought were a bugger to fit, really hurt my fingers and took half an hour. Recent pairs have been a doddle. As long as I'm buying running shoes, I'll be buying these laces. Not cheap but worth every penny in my opinion.

Turn your favorite shoes into SLIPPERS!!
These were as good as expected... NO BETTER! There are several reasons why you may choose to purchase Xtenex Laces. Here are two big ones...- You hate having to tie and untie your shoe laces (especially when they keep undoing on their own).- You always keep your laces tied and you keep stretching and ruining your shoes. Not only do these laces never come loose but you never need to tie them again. Also one thing you will notice is when your foot moves, now so will your shoe as your laces are elasticated and will stretch and contract as you walk/run.I have been wearing Palladium boots and as they are very light to start with they now feel like slippers as they are extremely comfortable at the same time as being able to be easily pulled on and off (without damaging the boot). After I finish this review I am going to order my next pair. I am very pleased! PS I don't often review products, but this one blew me away and the delivery was fast so I thought I would help them out and help you guys out too. Buy them, wear them, love them! :)

75cm is slightly too short
Look great and work well, only issue I have is they come up a tad small (short, now too tight) for a standard size 9 trainer? Need a pair that is slightly longer than 75cm, is this possible and available?

Love them!!!
I've been using Xtenex laces for five years now... every new pair of trainers has to have matching Xtenex laces... They work well whether I'm running in them, or just on my feet all day.

Perfect fit every time
These are great, once adjusted as you like them, your running shoes always feel a perfect fit with no tying of laces and nothing to come undone mid run. Also great at transition on a triathlon.

I first bought these to speed up triathlon transitions. I now use them all the time for running as they move nicely with my feet and are comfortable as they get hot and expand. I would, and do, recommend these to all runners and triathletes.

First time trying these and they was great no pain during my run or after
I purchased these for my running trainers as I was experiencing top of the foot pain which I believed was caused by using normal laces. First time trying these and they was great no pain during my run or after. They also had a great feel to them too and my trainers felt a lot more comfortable.

Unbelievable!
My ADIDAS golf shoes is a little wider, so my feet moved in the shoes even with laces tightened. So I bought this while thinking it was a bit costly. However,I am truly amazed at the comfort that I enjoy when I play rounds on the field. I improved the scores too.It is a great product, and I am happy to recommend anyone who wish to improve the comfort and performance in the golf game.

Should be standard on all sporting footwear!
Have been using these laces for some time, in fact I replaced the laces on all my trainers at the same time. These laces are tough and look the part too. The main beauty of them is that your footwear can be properly tied up across the whole length of the shoe/foot, rather than held together by the tying and knotting at your ankle, so say hello to correctly fitting footwear for once.
