This review is coming in five years after our purchase but this has been a purchase well worth it! The ease of set up, the breakdown to fit into a cute carrying case that makes the process of taking it to multiple locations seamless. No complaints with the light settings, you can set it to fit various settings to accommodate the vision you are looking to create.

The media could not be loaded. This ring light is AMAZING! I e been looking at all the ring lights on Amazon, and almost bought a cheaper one but I’m really glad I got this one instead, because the quality is so much higher! My hairdresser has two of the cheaper ring lights from amazon (ones from the $30-40 range) and hers are flimsy. The light covers are always falling off and the lights themselves always want to fall over.This ring light and it’s tripod stand are both very sturdy! It comes with a white and orange cover for the light to change the light’s warmth. It also comes with two mounts — one that rotates so you can have your phone or camera up or sideways, and one that is stationary. It also comes with a mount you can screw your actual camera into, and one that will hold your phone. The phone holder can expand to be bigger to hold a larger phone like the iPhone XS Max, which is the one I have. The stand also has an adjuster that allows you to angle the ring light head forward, straight or backwards for different angles. It can even angle straight down if you want to use it for flatlays or table top photography. The rig itself is a huge 18” in diameter which is perfect for potraits, videos, or product photography/videos. I love the dimmer feature so you can change the light strength and find the perfect brightness for your purposes. It gets SUPER bright!As a nice bonus it comes with a little strap you can use to attach the cord to the tripod both while you are using it and as storage, so the cord isn’t messy.I uploaded a video showing the light dimming, as well as one photo at a lower light setting and one at the highest light setting!

This is a great product. I purchased this ring light to make videos for school. The light came with a nice carrying bag which saves me a lot of headaches on getting it in and out of my car and back and forth from school. It is very easy to put the light together. It has a variety of lighting with adjustable brightness and the two different color tone filters which provide very even light across the image. The Tripod has a wide variety of adjustable heights. One thing I would like to complain is there was a $5 coupon offer when I put the item in the cart, after I finished shopping, for some reasons, the discount disappeared when I submitted the order at night. Other than that, it is a great product.

Very durable equipment

My review is based upon the initial opening and set-up along with a few uses since we've had it. It comes very well packaged. The case is nice and protects the ring, the power supply and the other set of diffuser lenses. The ring is made of plastic. Which makes it nice and light (not heavy), but you need to respect the light ring and not bang it around too much. You have the option of the bare bulbs, the white diffuser click on plastic covers and a yellow/orange plastic clip on diffuser. I found the white to be too harsh (the color temperature is too high for our warmer tones we like in our productions), but the yellow ones were very good. This ring is an 18 inch ring - so it is not tiny!. It provides an excellent light pattern, with good fill, little to no shadows and a very even light across the image. I used a Panasonic HC-WXF991K video camera for the tests and was impressed. The tripod is a bit on the weak side with some light gauge metal on the leg supports, but since I already plan on being more gentle than normal with it. I fully expect it to last for years. The light ring slides over the post of the tripod, a set screw with a nice handle makes it easy to tighten. I was worried it would wobble all around. It didn't. Easy on and off. The power supply has a nice 10 ft cord so I do not need to string an extension cord when using it. The intensity (brightness) control on the light is nice. It appears to be smooth and even when going up and down the range. For the close up work I do, I am found I was near to the lowest setting and the light pattern and intensity was excellent.The attachments for mounting the camera or phone into the ring were well made. two types of heads and when I used the ball mount I was able to easily twist, rotate and angle the video camera with no movement after I tightened it into place.Why the downgrade on the sturdiness. Like I have said it is all plastic construction and I can't speak to how well it will last with less than a month of use behind me. The tripod metal is thin and flexes pretty easily. I wanted everyone to be sure I was not confident in the sturdiness. If it takes the beatings well, I'll gladly come back and upgrade the rating.Overall, I like it. I may buy a second one so I can keep one by both my shooting locations. The price was excellent. If you are new to this, trying out how to modify your lighting, just getting started in close-up work or YouTube, this is worth a look and a purchase.
