This works great!
I bought this as it is that time of year to put out our driveway and turn-around markers. It's been below freezing here so the sooner I get them in the better. It arrived yesterday and today, loaded with some new and some old markers I set about drilling the holes deep enough (now) they won't come loose. An earlier review lamented the bit won't penetrate rock. Um, the flat tip suggested as much. This didn't cause an issue as moving a 1/2" away solved the problem. In most cases I went down 6" in others, with longer fiberglass rod I went down the length of the bit. Easy-Piesy. I really liked the holes drilled were precisely the correct diameter so the markers stayed upright with zero lateral play. It was an outstanding investment If I reposition or in future years wait until after the ground is frozen solid for several inches ... zero problem. I returned the bit to it's plastic case for use in 12 months. I'm thrilled some clever guy somewhere came up with the idea and the proper width, length, and strength. I was also skeptical of a drill bit drilling through earth, as earth is not oak, pine, or maple. It did a remarkable job!

Works great!
This helped make an annoying project go so much faster and made it easier. We have an extremely long driveway, plus we live in the snow belt, so that equals a ton of snow becoming a massive project. My husband who works a lot, was dreading having to hammer pipes into the ground to get the driveway markers in. If it was a small driveway probably wouldn’t be as big of a deal… but seeing how you can’t even see half of our driveway in the picture, you can imagine how many markers we need. I was nervous the bit wouldn’t work because we have gravel along the side of the driveway, but it easily made the perfect size hole for the driveway markers. (A couple times we had to move around a few inches when there were too many rocks in the way) They all stand up straight and slid right in.

Works great for intended purpose but value is questionable.
Works well but it's a bit expensive for what's basically a bit masonry bit. Mine was slightly bent but considering I'm using it to drill into the ground that didn't make a difference. The ground is very rocky and I previously couldn't get driveway markers in further than 2-3" but with this I'm able to get them more than 6" into the ground. I didn't try it in frozen ground, just rocky.

Perfect Tool for Use
I never want to be without this tool again when I have to put up snow stakes. Completely took away the headache of putting up many bendy fiberglass stakes into stony gravelly compacted soil. HUGE TIME SAVER!Pros:Sturdy and sharp bit able to easily "bite" into soil.Fit perfectly into my portable drill.Truly the perfect size for 5/16th stakes as advertised.Saves time!!!Cons:Seemed a little pricey for something I am only going to use once or twice a year.It would be nice if it had a cone shape "guard" towards the base because it goes into the soil so well that it is easy to push your drill nose into the ground and get it full of dirt.

The yearly task of putting up driveway markers for the winter is now a breeze!
After literally spending years manually using a hammer and screwdriver to make holes in the ground near my driveway to install driveway markers for the winter, I took a chance on this drillbit for my electric drill. What a game changer! This drill bit fit perfectly in my small black and decker Cordless drill and powered through all of the rocks and hard soil that would easily take 10 times longer to tackle the old way I was doing it. This little gem helped me install over 12 driveway markers in no time flat. (For industrial-grade metal stake reflectors no less!). Work smarter and not harder - pick up this little timesaver ASAP!

Works great most of the time
Went straight down most of the time. It won’t go through solid stone. It will push smaller ones out of the way.

The Quality Control is somewhat lacking
The bit was slightly bent and wobbled about an 1/8 inch when turning

money well-spent
I was getting sick of watching my aluminum and fiberglass driveway markers sag and drop over. When I tried to push them in the ground further, I ended up just repeating the process every week or so. I began searching for replacements that were sturdier, and wasn't getting beyond possibly making my own of wood, and painting them with reflective paint. Big job! Along came this suggestion (drill bit). It was easy to hook up with my electric drill, and I was able to bore a perfect-sized hole through mulch and frost. Now my markers look great, and seem destined to stay upright. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Ok mais pas dans le sol semi gelé
La lame ne fonctionne pas dans le sol semi gelé à gelé. Ce serait probablement mieux avec une mèche standard pour l'acier avec une rallonge.

DON'T BUY
This thing does not work. Soon as it hit gravel below the surface it would not penetrate after 2 - 3 inches max. Not worth the money! It will hang on the board in my shed now looking for a use. Useless!
