reclaiming my heart
I have been at a place lately where I have asked the Lord so many times, What am I doing wrong? Where has my joy for life gone? Then I picked up Reclaiming Your Heart and realized that my heart has been so shut down that I have lost my love for life. In this book, Mrs. Jones takes her readers on a journey of recognizing different types of shut down hearts as she and her husband share some of their personal journey in reclaiming their own hearts. She exposed a shutdown heart for what it is - sin - not really trusting God with your story. Then she gentle and beautifully shows the reader how to come to terms with the areas of the heart that are shut down. She reveals ways to allow yourself to be honest with God and yourself. She challenges you to look deep within and be willing to take the steps to reclaim your heart and to look for God in the details of your life. Her printed words on the pages of this book have been chosen delicately, and deliberately as she has encourages the reader to listen to the birds sing (I have heard them again) and allow yourself to laugh again, exercise your childlike faith, and seek God and His wisdom as He draws you back to his embrace so you can experience life more abundantly. Just the way God intended you too. This book has the potential of being life changing - it is up to each individual reader. This book will not dissapoint you if you are sincere about reclaiming your heart.

A must read!
I have read all of Denise's books and I have to say that this one is one of her best. If you are on a spiritual journey to find yourself, your healing, or to improve your relationships. Reclaiming Your Heart is an absolute must read. I am currently reading it for the 2nd time and plan to keep it handy for future reference and reading. Reclaiming your heart is a journey. A journey that I want to continue on for the rest of my life. My heart is worth it.God has used Denise's insight to bring enlightenment, truth and freedom to the closed-off places of my shut down heart. My life will never be the same. I have shared this book with all my girl friends and we are doing a study together using the book. I want everyone I know to experience God's grace and deliverance and be free to be all HE created them to be.

Thought provoking
Coming from a very dysfunctional family background and recently losing my husband of 26 years, this book was certainly eye opening and thought provoking. Makes me look forward to actually living the rest of my life.

Fantastic resource for personal growth and healing
I've been a fan of Denise Hildreth Jones' fiction books for years, and happened to run across "Reclaiming Your Heart" during a time of personal growth and change. I can't recommend it highly enough. Combined with some other processes of personal healing, this book was an excellent tool that showed me some new perspectives on how we can react interact with struggles and pain....and how we can move past them to wholeness, and what God might want to show us in the process. While filled with excellent wisdom, direction and perspective combined with personal stories, Jones' voice is a delight to read. You never feel like you are slogging thru or WORKING as you read this book; rather, it feels like a pleasant, loving personal journey ending in joy.

Just like Denise Hildreth Jones
This is the book that convinced me God doesn't always give us what we want BUT He always gives us what we need. Just like Denise Hildreth Jones, He gave me a 'harmless heart' in the midst of all my confusion. Books do change your life! This is one of them!

Excellent
After i read this book, God began to use it to help me understand the types of hearts i have. I saw how that at times I am an "enabler" and that is not good. It has changed my life and i have told many others about it. I am going to re-read it. It is very good and i think that if people read it with open minds and listen, that God will use it to help them too.

Longggggg chapters
While the book has some great stories and can be an encouragement, the author is VERY wordy. Chapters are longer than they need be. She also uses the Message version of the Bible heavily in case that is something you like or dislike.
