Phenomenal quality
I used to only watch this online and streaming and to have an actual blu-ray copy, the quality is phenomenal. Haven't been able to figure out the extra features on the br yet but that's ok, I just wanted multi format because my teenagers are also fans. Not sure we will use the digital copy, the funimation app is trash, but the br is mine (for the living room and for trips), dvd's are for the kids to share. Love the subs too, -with the exception of a disability-, only psychos watch dub. For fans of only the first 2 movies, personally I don't like to acknowledge Light Up The New World, this is an amazing purchase thats well worth the cost.

Great Rendition...
I haven't read the manga, but I watched the anime before I watched this. I really liked that they kept a lot from the anime, even if they moved things around a bit. The first disc was close to the anime and the second strayed further away. The ending was completely different! Even though I liked the movies ending, I'd rather it end the way the anime did. Overall, it was put together well and the blu-ray quality is beautiful. My boyfriend had mixed emotions about it because he wanted it to follow the anime storyline better, so you should go in with an open mind. I kind of wish I watched the movie first to see if I could catch on to what was going on without knowing the anime first, because I think I would have been confused about what was going on in some places. I thought the actors were PERFECT for their roles, I thought I was watching the characters in the anime. I loved the CGI for the Shinigami, their characters were perfect and Ryuk is so funny. I also recommend watching this one in Japanese with subs, the English dub is not as good to me, but I like the option to watch it either way. I definatly recommend this to anyone, rather you've seen the anime or not. The anime definitely deserves a watch too.

Awesome, Both initial Death Note movie's
I doubt I need to say much, "Death Note". If you are a fan and don't have it, then get it. If you are not a fan I recommend getting it, you'll become a fan after you watch it. Great way to watch, since the movie comes in two DVD's or one Blu-ray along with a online download.

The "Death Note" films on blu-ray!!!
Shusuke Kaneko's "Death Note" films are awesome. I bought Viz Pictures' dvd versions of "Death Note", "Death Note: The Last Name" and Hideo Nakata's "L: Change The World" and I was really impressed with them. When I put in the blu-rays of both "Death Note" films, I was blown away. They look phenomenal in 1080p and they definitely have that HD pop to them with many elements looking 3-dimensional. I have already imported the blu-rays of the "20th Century Boys" trilogy, "Kaiji: Gambling Apocalypse" and "Ultra Galaxy: Mega Monster Battle: The Movie". I was patiently waiting for the "Death Note" films to be released on blu-ray in the good ole United States. It was well worth the wait. HANDS DOWN MUST-BUY!!! This release gets a 10/10. If you even remotely enjoy foreign films or even just outstanding thriller mysteries with a touch of horror and a test of wits, do not hesitate to buy this collection. You will not be disappointed. Watch them in the original Japanese language with English subtitles.

Blu-ray does not work on my Ps4
I will never buy a Funmation Blu-ray again. First off digital codes do not work, second you can’t skip the commercial of another movie in the beginning, 3rd the menu would only let me play part two and I couldn’t go back to main menu once movie started. I’m pissed because I threw out my DVD versions of these movies because I thought this would be a better copy. Middle fingers to whoever was selling this. If I could I would give zero stars.

There Are No Extras…, And No Working Digital Key
As a Death Note fan i had to get the Blu-Ray versions of the 2 main flicks. This production does that. There’s also an ordinary DVD each for the first and its sequel. That is what I paid for. However, the promised digital version key doesn’t work because Funimation’s digital copy site no longer exists. As far as I am concerned I have no problem ripping a digital version for my security. They make a note in their packaging of delivering digitally but do not deliver. They simply give their customer the finger. Finger energetically returned: screw me, screw you all day every day.Funimation (someone is still banking their sales) has the nasty habit of making it difficult to bypass their annoying ad(s). That shows me how chintsy they are. There are no extras; no commentary nor backstory, which I would have been really shocked if they were available for at least the original movie from ‘Sleaze-Imation.’ Funimation is not funny.I got the 2 flicks for which I paid; 2 BR versions on the same disc and a standard DVD individually for the original and its child.By the way, the video quality of the standard DVDs is not much less than the BR version. A good thing and a meh thing.Hopefully the price will go down for others to purchase. Do not fork out more than $30 for these.

An excellent pair of movies for a cheaper price
I have been a huge fan of the Death Note series ever since the first manga hit the U.S so of course I had to own both of these movies. I especially am fond of this set because these movies come off more as two parts of a single film then two standalones so you able to see the complete story at once. I also recommend this set in blu ray over any dvd set because the picture and audio quality differences are noticable as well. If you are looking for a ton of special features, this set isn't ideal but it is one of the few sets to have both movies together and is alot cheaper then buying each movie seperately (at the time I bought it at least) so it has that going for it.
