Incredibly beautiful and moving.
What an exceptionally beautiful love story! Much more profound and emotional than the summary content let on. Beforehand, I had a hard time believing how on earth this crazy idea could ever become acceptable. But believe me, it certainly turned out to be. My heart went out to Jayne, and to Ainsley as well. In retrospect, Walfort turned out to be a rather selfish, manipulative cad. I was completely carried away. Without a doubt one of the best stories I've read in recent years. It made me cry like a baby. Beautiful!!!!

loved it
I was surprised that this turned into one of my favourite books by Lorraine Heath. In the beginning I found it difficult to relate to Ainsley behaving so recklessly. In the previous 2 books he was always the most responsible and serious of all 3 brothers. I was in suspense wondering why he’d have acted so out of character, Without giving away the plot, I was glad to finally discover a plausible explanation. There seemed to be more branches and twists to the story, compared to her other books, I laughed a bit and cried more than usual.I highly recommend reading this for anyone who enjoys romance with a good story behind it

My favourite
I loved this, not so much for the story but because of the strength of connection between the two main characters which grew during their month together. Yes the moral dilemmas aplenty and I felt Jayne resentment of Ainsley seemed uncharacteristically narrow minded. But this brings a realness to it- life is messy and even the best people or intentions are not always wise. This made me believe in their rare true love and I will continue to reread it as my favourite historical romance.

A Different Twist Makes a Fascinating Read!
"Waking Up With The Duke" made my long flight from Vilnius Lithuania to Newark NJ, and on to Atlanta, on a plane with a plethora of screaming kids, pass so quickly I was disappointed to land before finishing it!! This is a clever, NEW and unexpected Ducal romance twist you'll enjoy! Being a non-fiction author, and a history buff, I read voraciously,in many genres, and it takes a lot to impress me--particularly in the field of historic romance. I had never read Lorraine Heath before, but after reading "Waking Up With the Duke" I can highly recommend her to readers of Romance fiction. In this story, Ms. Heath came up with a mesmerizing premise, which woke ME right up!(Alas!'Twas NOT with a Duke in the adjacent airplane seat, nor at home in my "Kingsize" bed!) She is truly a stellar craftmaster. She maintains a good pace throughout, and invents enough twists and changes along the route to keep the reader involved with the plot, and turning the pages, anxious to find out what could, or will, possibly happen NEXT in this improbable, but not unimaginable,two-family dilemma. Her characters are exceptionally well drawn, and the story's sexual tension and scintillating premise entrances the reader from the opening well-baited hook, "I'll consider your debt paid if you get my wife with child..." right up to the very end. I've awarded this book five stars because it is tops in its ability to enthrall and satisfy the reader. Don't miss it! I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.Carol Jose, Author/Journalist
