Kair Ceiling Extract Valve 100mm - 4 inch White Coated Metal Vent

Simple and stylish. Easy to fit. Adjustable and quite slick when installed

I ordered this as a bit of a gamble to replace an existing fresh air intake in a WC. It was reasonably cheap so I thought I’d try it out and take the hit if it was rubbish. I wanted a vent that was adjustable and could be fully closed for winter months as currently when it is below freezing outside I have to take the plastic grille off my existing vents and fill the hole with a foam cutout. The reviews weren’t clear on whether you could do this, but you can. There is a nut on either side of a thread and you need to remove one of them (one is to make sure you don’t overtighten the vent and one to make sure you don’t loosen it so much it falls off). As a result I have now ordered another three to replace the other old plastic style vents I have. The only slight downside is the rotating part of the vent is slightly bent in that when it is in the open position one side has a slightly larger gap than the other, though as it is against a wall it’s not a dealbreaker for me.

Robust unit and easy to install. Very low profile piece. The face plate has a kind of foam strip to cushion the connection to the receiver. This might harbour mold in damp conditions. Faceplate can be removed to allow air flow aperture be adjusted.

For fitting the screw holes are small and close to hole edge, so tricky for say plaster board, and whole thing must hang below ceiling. Would benefit from a plate which could be fixed to above ceiling side to sandwich together at various depths/thickness of ceilings/walls. This would be more robust and secure.

Works well, looks well, only thing was getting the internal ring to stay in. As I put it in the ceiling rather than wall, I had to use a cable tie to keep the centre right. But using an in line motor buried deep in the attic and this unit means it extracts well but is whisper quiet.

We wanted to replace our existing square louvred extractor vent with something more pleasing to the eye as part of our en-suite renovation. The Kair vent compliments our white surround LED lights & more importantly, extracts the steam more effectively than the previous vent given it has a internal valve. Brilliant in all respects & excellent value for money.

Ricevuti perfettamente in tempo. Li ho utilizzati in una contro-soffittatura. Molto belli e perfettamente verniciati. Sono solidi e si avvitano perfettamente alla parte inferiore (che ho avvitato nel cartongesso).
