Excellent attic fan cover velcro alternative!! Works perfect!
This can be used to hang an attic fan or whole house fan cover made of thermal foam sheet with one foil side and one white side that is commonly sent with Velcro that will sag, tear the cover because the Velcro is stronger than the cover or just fall off the ceiling at random. Don't use the Velcro!! Ever! It sucks. This is the way to go!I left the two magnet tape halves together, peeled the backing on one side to expose adhesive, and cut strips to make a continuous frame of magnets on the outside edge of the rectangular louver housing facing the floor. I then peeled the adhesive backing on the other side while the two magnet halves were still together on the ceiling and pressed the over sized insulating sheet material to the exposed adhesive being careful to start in the middle of a side and pressing around the edge to not adhere it or stretch it so it buckled. I wanted it as flat as possible with no sagging. Both magnet halves are still hanging from the ceiling at this point. I pressed all around the perimeter. Then I removed the insulating material, with one half of magnet strips attached, down, noting position of the cover, marking a corner on both halves so it would get reattached in the right orientation, layed it flat on a hard surface of a wood floor and rolled with an ink or tile roller. Could use a dowel or other round object. I then trimmed the insulating sheet material with scissors leaving a 1\2" border. I let it sit flat for 2 days for the adhesive to cure with no weight on it. I then located the marked corners and let the magnets snap together. It has been hanging for quite a while in the heat and has not separated, dropped the cover, or moved in any way. It comes off and reattaches easily unlike the Velcro it came with. The adhesive is stuck tight. Throw the Velcro away and use this, but stick, let cure, and trim excess for a better result. Store the cover flat. If you roll it, it may pull the magnet adhesive and delaminate it. Put it under a bed or sofa or someplace where it won't be disturbed until next season when you want to seal your whole house fan louvers.

Doesn't hold up
I unrolled it and tried to get all of the curve out of the tape before mounting to the wall. The pictures show tools and knives attached to the magnet. I tried to mount gun magazines of various sizes with some success. Others were too heavy to stay and slid off immediately. Magazines are very light compared to tools. I left whatever did stay in place overnight. when I came back most of the tape and magazines were on the floor.I could fasten the tape more securely to the wall with screws or staples, but this tape doesn't hold all the mags anyway. I'll have to find something different.

Love It!
This tape is strong, durable and holds weight, well! My classroom is benefitting from various areas that I am utilizing the tape. My circle time area has become quickly more versatile and easy to change out with using the magnetic tape instead of staples/ tape, ect.

magnetic tape works better than regular duct tape
Used magnetic tape to "tape"down plastic bag which prevents rain from entering car door during rains.
