Good design on catch boxes
These are sturdy catch boxes designed to filter out leaves and debris from rain gutter flow. That avoids clogging the drains too quickly. They are a bit pricey though.

Great product, sheds leaves and drains lots of water!
Great product that performs much better than the previous gutter drainage design I had. Made it through TS Beta (>12” rain locally in 24 hrs) without issue!!My previous gutter drainage was a 3x4 Fernco fitting straight to 4” SDR pipe. The problems I had with that arrangement were that small amount of leaves would clog the fitting, or a tee downstream, and backup the water which would in turn soak my exterior home wall.I removed the Fernco fitting and cut the piping back to allow installation of a NDS 12” Basin Extension, of which I concreted the bottom. I then had to remove my downspout and modify its projection off the wall about 1.5” in order to fit the slope of the drain grate. I then fit up the downspout to overhang the top of grate by about 1-2” to prevent splash back onto the house during heavy rainfall scenarios. This setup so far has been through Tropical Storm Beta (I’m in Houston), and performed beautifully!

Keeps the leaves out!
These work great if you have a lot of leaves to worry about. Our house is surrounded by trees and leaves are a big issue. These solve the problem. But they are fairly big, so they don't blend in with the landscape. I might try to paint them in a different color.

Great design for areas with heavy debris
I have blocked water flow channeling it into a drainage box. The flat grate would sometimes clog with debris because of the low drainage area. If debris causes water to rise it still forms a channels to let the water down into the drainage box.

Why am I so happy with a catch basin grate?
This thing is a pretty nice addition to our drainage system. I thought it sounded nifty, but considered it kind of a "nice to have" item. Now that it's installed and been through a few heavy rains, I consider it a "need to have" for my remaining projects. This thing works well to keep downspout water away from walls and foundations, while catching larger solids (catkins, twigs, leaves). The catch basin filter sock is working well to keep shingle granules out of the system overall.

Expensive, but heavy-duty
I thought this was quite expensive, but it really was simple to install and the only product that would actually work for my situation. It seems very sturdy. I will see how it holds up through a Minnesota winter.UPDATE: the horribly cold weather did not affect this in any way.

Leaves problems?!?
I had a drain that collected leaves and debris whenever there was pouring rain. This solved the problem due to its height and angle. No more flooded garage!?!

Wrong size for the box that it fits one
Wrong size for this to fit on top of the box box doesn’t adhere to the bottom of this
