This wasn't the chalk I thought it was.
Prefer a softer chalk. I thought I was ordering the same chalk as I had previously, but obviously not. This is a good chalk, just hard.

Top of the line
Top of the line, but I wish it were cheaper and there wasn't as much chalk transfer to the cue ball.

I can't believe I waited this long!
This chalk exceeded all expectations I have ever had on any pool cue chalk! I waited a while to buy this because a) the price point, b) a video I saw a YouTube video by Dr.DaveBilliard that had me concerned about the Kamui chalk producing more cling, and c) the color of this chalk is very different from the color of my table cloth which can be messy looking. I recently switched to a Predator carbon shaft and found that my bridge hand seems to be getting covered with chalk much faster than in the past, possibly because the carbon shaft does not hang on to any of the chalk residues. So they all end up on my hand. My table also seems to accumulate chalk much faster. I decided to try a cube of Kamui Roku Chalk. I have only played 6 racks with the new chalk, and it is so much better than I expected that I feel compelled to sit down and write this review. None of my 3 initial concerns was founded. I have only chalked 3 times in six racks! I waited until I miscued after my initial application, and it took 3 racks to happen. OK, this may not last as long as a gross (144) of regular cue chalk, but this one cube will last me a very long time. There is very little sign of chalk on my table, and very little sign of chalk on the cue ball, and no sign of chalk on my bridge hand. Cling has not been an issue especially if you clean your cue ball every now and then. And I bearly need to clean my table now after 6 racks. The cue ball also needs a lot less cleaning. I am guessing that this will extend the life of my Simonis cloth because it needs to be brushed/cleaned much less frequently. Most importantly, the chalk really clings well onto the cue ball through the stroke giving me much better control and reliable spin! I can't believe a little cube of chalk can make all these differences! Highly recommended!UPDATE:I have used this chalk every day now for a couple of weeks, and I feel compelled to write an update. I like this chalk... no, I love this chalk even more that I initially thought. First, I learn that unlike its predecessor, you are supposed to use this ROKU like a regular piece of chalk, as in apply often or before every shot. I find that applying every few shots, or before every shot on which I plan to use heavy English is sufficient. This chalk not only allows me to apply a lot more English on the ball, but it also keeps the ball much cleaner. I used to find a lot of chalk marks on the cue ball after every rack. With ROKU, the cue ball stays super clean. I just need to rub my hands on the ball a couple of times to get a completely clean cue ball. My table also stays a lot cleaner and requires cleaning a lot less frequently. When I do need to clean the Simonis cloth, I use the Simonis X-1 cloth cleaning tool that has a felt-like fabric on the bottom. I guess what makes this chalk clings much better to the cue tip and the cue ball also makes it cling much better on the X-1 cleaning felt. Just running over the cloth once gently picks up what little chalk marks there are on the table. My initial reaction when seeing this chalk was, "$30 of one piece of chalk?!!" Now I would buy this once a month if I have to. Luckily, this chalk seems to last forever even when applying frequently, so it will last me many months. My table cloth will certainly last longer because of less frequent and less harsh cleaning. On top of that, I learn that I can buy this chalk directly from Kamui for $25 with free shipping. This is a no-brainer. Try it!

most expensive chalk
I've owned 4 of these and what this chalk provides is a in between from lipstick type of chalk and dry dusty chalk, while you can chalk less with this it's just a little to expensive for hard shooting players like myself, if you use soft or medium tips with less speed you have more angular momentum transferred to the ball than with masters chalk, but at 30 bucks a cub it's debatable if the added tactility at low speeds is worth it. this chalk is on my wish list for christmas because I never lose my chalk and have the entire line of Kamui products in my bag, but this chalk is a mixed bag between using it alot and loving it disliking it, this chalk is hard enough to shard off if you apply significant pressure to it, it's also slightly finer than masters chalk

Great chalk as expected
This chalk works really well. I'm not the type of player who chalks after every shot so I can take 4 or 5 shots without rechalking and have no problems. It doesn't leave any marks on the cue. And I shoot in a league 2 nights a week and have been using this for about 3 months now and have barely made a dent in it. It may be a little expensive for just one piece but at that rate it's gonna last well over a year.

Unexpected Surprise!
I laughed at this when I first saw it. Almost $30 for a piece of chalk? WHAT!!! I was wrong. This is a great product. Played 20+ racks with a group of 4 and the chalk looks like brand new after everyone using it--I imagine 1 piece will last 6 months (for someone that plays 50 or less racks a week). The other thing I noticed, besides the tip being perfectly chalked for shots, is that it doesn't dust out on your cue, table, clothing, etc... That really annoys me about most chalk--It gets on everything! Really good product. I'm still shocked that I bough a piece, but very glad I did after using it. No gimmicks on this product--works exceptionally well!

Really good dependable chalk
The chalk is clean/ clean enough. Some say you cant apply a easy to the tip but the chalk you can apply IS enough. You can definitely over chalk your tip with this chalk. The lump of chalk its self does last a very long time. I haven't need to tear off the paper yet to expose more chalk yet. The cube its self feels extremely soft to other chalks (Taom, Magic Chalk, Master, Predator, Blue Diamond) One con is the chalk sort of smothers the tip. Like I cant get a good feel of the elasticity of the Kamui SS tip. Taom, Blue Diamond, Master Chalk really helps my feel the performance of my tip more. They form to the tip really nicely. On the other hand Predator, Magic Chalk, Kamui Roku, feels like theres a thick layer of chalk and then the tip. Definitely a good pick over Taom chalk if you feel like Taom chalk is too bare for your tip. In my mind Taom Chalk is for softer tips and Kamui is for medium to harder tips.

Preferred billiards chalk
Fine grind of chalk allows it to stick on cue tip better than most.

Crazy good chalk
I bought this after looking at some youtube reviews on pool chalk and it tested right up there as some of thw grippiest and easiest to apply and longest lasting. Never thought Id spend so much on a hunk of chalk but damn even just feeling it on the hand... it is SMOOTH but also sticks, its fantastic on the cue, no regrets.

4/5
After testing different brands and models of chalk, this was the one I use the most now.Aside from being expensive for a single piece, it is still one of the cleanest, better performing and long lasting billiard chalk on the market.
