Many good simple recipes. You wont need to use extra kitchen appliances. Immersion blender, hi speed blender, a food processor all not necessary Just good food which nonvegans love too.

One more cookbook to help with Plant based lifestyle
I have several books by Dr. McDougall. They are all very informative. I am always on the lookout for additional ways to prepare the food we now enjoy. With a Texan, retired firefighter, as a spouse, I needed to come up with recipes that are different and not all just soup and a big salad. Dr. McDougall's books all have wonderful helpful information and include at least some of he and his wife's recipes they have developed over the past years and are willing to share.

Mrs. McDougall's cookbook
This is a cookbook for readers who may be interested in the 'McDougall Diet', which essentially restricts intake to starch and other plant-based foods. Compared with other books that support similar diet plans, I consider this to be the best that I have come across. It explains how Mary McDougall adapted her cooking when her husband turned to a vegetarian diet. It details ways in which favorite meat-based recipes can be adapted to become vegetarian recipes. The recipes in this book are clear and easy to follow.Recommended for anyone interested in changing to a healthy, vegetarian diet.

For those on the McDougall plan, this cookbook is great!
I have liked every recipe that I've made so far. It's still amazing to me that food without added fat can taste so delicious and be so satisfying. This book doesn't have color photos of the food, but it really doesn't matter because the recipes are that good!

Some Good Recipes
I know someone who had great success following the McDougall Diet. It is too limiting for me to commit too, and can be expensive. Unfortunately, healthy food tends to be more expensive and more difficult to find. My husband and I did find some recipes that we will continue to use. Many of the recipes also make a ton of food and cutting them down to an amount that two people could eat before it went bad was at times difficult.

Another MUST HAVE COOKBOOK, learn the better way to EAT! Surprise Surprise!!
Well, what can I say it is a book by Dr John McDougall! I follow his recipes, theory, have all of his books, love him and his family for what they are teaching us about sickness, dis-ease of the body, food poisoning, yes I said food poisoning, and more. If you don't purchase, rent it first from the Library, then pull up that comfy chair, grab your green tea or water with ice and lemon and READ READ READ. All of his books are complete eye openers for sure.He has been trying to tell us for the last 40 years! We all need to listen, please give it a go.You could save your life and the lives of your loved ones, remember, it is never too late to research and learn about the food we buy and put in our bodies.Keep that open mind everyone, make your own decisions, but it never hurts to consider a change somewhere along the way, and to figure out who is telling you true about the food these days. We really are smarter than some think!To your health! Sign me, way past 60, feeling wonderful, dropped 50 pounds, moves like a 35 year old!

Get it and try it for 60 days
His books changed my life, and I was not seeking change. As an amateur athlete I keep my eyes open for new things that may affect my running. What affects my running also affects my health, right?. After 60 days of trying this diet I went out to run a half marathon. I could not run regularly due to work. Since I could not run, I thought, 'let me watch my diet to stay healthy and keep weight down since I'm not running.' Actually, I only jogged a couple of times for a half hour over that 60 days. I thought I would walk/jog most of the event. I'm just an average runner - no high school competitive running. I went out and shaved a half hour off my previous half marathon time for which i did not train, as well. Because I was so amazed, I stuck with this lifestyle and it has just affected me greatly. I won't go on like an infomercial. Just try it for a month and see if you don't have more energy. From a scientific basis this way of eating creates a stronger more elastic arterial/venous system.

The New McDougall Cookbook (20 years later)
The new McDougall Cookbook has good recipes. It is interesting to see how vegan eating has progressed. There was no mention of Almond Milk in this cookbook, it hadn't been considered yet as a milk alternative. I find it is helpful to have a variety of recipe books to go through to find the recipe that suits my objective for that day. It is also interesting to see how trim, fit and youthful John and Mary look 20 years later! The proof of the pudding is in the eating!

Good cooking!!
All the McDougall books are great! Lots of health tips, and very easy recipes. Helps you learn a new way of cooking and a new belief of how we should eat to be healthy. Most people don't want to make the change as they feel they will compromise their joy of eating. For me eating is to sustain life and be healthy, however here you will find delicious simple recipes that give you health and pleasure. For the UK, some of the ingredients are not as easy to get, but for me it is not a problem as I am a good cook and get improvise. Having said that book is full of simple delicious every day meals.This will give you pleasure and more important help you get healthy.

Well lade out easy to use
Easy well laid out recipes with hints on meal plans very useful for vegan way of eating the making the change part is for American shopping and there are no pictures but I would still recommend this book very pleased .
