Our puppy had gotten in the habit of bolting out the door barking every time we took him out. Now on day two and he is slowing down and barking very little. Just a little reminder from the collar and he remembers to listen. Mostly he only needs the sound or vibrate on a very low setting...have only had to use the shock twice, and it has never been turned up past 10 out of 100. The only down side is we have two dogs and two collars. We can program one remote to both collars, but it would be nice if we could have both remotes control both collars so we could each carry one and not have to hand off the remote to each other all the time.

The beep works, the vibration works, but most of the time the shock doesn't do anything. The entire reason I bought this was for the shock, to train my dog and almost every time I try to use the shock it does nothing. Even holding the unit in my hand pressed up against the palm of my hand, many times I cant feel it. I have to move it around to get it just right to even feel the shock. Ive used the little plastic covers, and also used it with just the metal prongs, and have also used the extended prongs as well. I have also tried adjusting the collar to different levels of tightness on my dogs neck. Ive tried about everything I can think of, and the shock is just extremely unreliable. I do NOT recommend, and will be getting a refund.UPDATEI have recently had a little bit more luck with this unit. I used extended prongs again, no plastic covers, but tightened up the collar even more(I had to tighten it up almost too tight for it to have any effect). I was able to get a reaction out of my dog enough, that he IS more behaved while wearing the collar. The problem is, my 55 pound beagle boxer mix seems to ignore the shock many many times. I think he is just a tougher dog maybe or more resistant to the shock, and he completely ignores the beep and vibrate options. So this collar could possibly work for a smaller, or just more sensitive to shock dog. Upgraded to 3 star rating because of nice fast shipping, and the unit does seem well made, but Im still returning it and hopefully finding a stronger shock unit.

This is a pretty good buy for the price and it holds a charge very well. I would suggest you make sure you keep your dog's neck shaved where it goes on it if they had sick for otherwise it will not work properly. I didn't give it five stars because sometimes it's not reliable and it doesn't always beep or shock or vibrate which could become a problem I have my dog jumping somebody else's vehicle

I have another collar for my dog that only vibrates ~ but unfortunately it has 0 effect on him. I also lost the charger to it because it didnt work well so i stopped using it. Hoping to give collar training another try (im desperate) i ordered this collar. I like how it has a remote so that I can be more in control of when the collar is activated. There is multiple settings and an adapter to test if the shock is working. There is also a protection mode so that your dog cannot be vibrated or shocked for more than 10 consecutive seconds. So far it is working in the house and Im excited to test it for recall training outdoors.

This dog collar is very effective, my dog is afraid of it... i only put it on him during night time since he keep barking at night and it is hard for us to sleep since he is so noisy... the reason why he is afraid because when i hit the button it will electric shocked him, so yeah it works... and also it has flashlight, there's a volume on how strong you will put it, i tried it and put my hand on it while pushing the button and yeah it gives me electric shocked too... so better put it down while dog wearing it so it wont hurt them that much...

I have a 90 lbs GSD who barks incessantly at almost anything while in the car... mostly other dogs, people, bikes, etc. I wanted a collar with a vibrate function strong enough to distract him from barking, but also a remote control function.He might as well not be wearing at all, as he has zero reaction to ANY of the settings (including the shock, turned all the way up). I have even tried tightening the collar so that it is snug on his neck, but still no stop to his barking.I would like to return this item, but I no longer have the original packaging.

Great collar! I have a 135 lbs great dane and this collar has helped us train her and she even likes it. When I have to charge it she gets mad lol
