Very interesting reading Many differing points of view are represented with quite complete documentation. It can be of interest to both scholars and those who simply want to learn about her. Other scholarly works are reviewed within these pages. It would have helped this reader if some of the repeated stories of her life had been edited into endnotes rather than retelling of the same story by several of the authors. All in all, a very helpful, thoughtful compilation of research on her life and times.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Interesting perspectives about Mary Lincoln.

Some really great work, but some of the articles had some pretty glaring inaccuracies or simplifications that I found jarring. "There's Something About Mary" was spectacularly written. The phrasing of some others was very confusing. A mixed bag, but all interesting in some way.

This is a book of essays. That being said, I found some of the essays informative, others not so much. There are a lot of the same historical references in many of the essays. Lots and lots of references. I feel this book is for the more serious reader looking for more information about the subject. I did, however, find some of the essays very interesting and informative and am glad that I read the book.
