Dritz 5-33 Heavy Duty Snaps, Gunmetal, Size 24 (5/8-Inch) 7-Sets

The snaps work well enough, but they're not nearly as strong as I'd expect from something labeled "heavy duty." If you just want to add snaps to a loose-fitting garment, these would probably be fine. But I wouldn't use them on a waistband, belt, or anything that is going to have any weight or strain put on it at all. They're easy enough to use with a hammer and a snap-setter tool, and they look very nice, they just don't hold up to any real force.

Using this tool with snaps is confusing with the printed instructions.This video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O73O3V2naDk explains it a lot better.Once you've seen the vid and know how to use it, it works well.Noticed another review said the base might crack. I put a little padding under it and haven't had any problems.Also, I use a plastic-head mallet.

Worked perfectly with the tool I ordered from Amazon. Just what I needed to fix these overalls. I can see how someone might get confused about which pieces go together tho, I bagged mine seperately once I figured it out.

Simple and easy to use. Unless you have a great many to do (hundreds or more) this simple tool is the way to go. Easier to use and more reliable than either plier-based or stationary table-top devices. I used it to set 16 snaps in leather blacksmithing aprons. I have several more complex and more expensive devices, but this is my go-to device unless I need to do hundreds in a hurry.

Once I figured out how to put these together it was an easy installation on my boat. I have Velcro straps that hold the sides of my Bimini down and they weren’t working good anymore so I installed these snaps. They work great!! I also purchased the pliers and the hole puncher.

Each package is supposed to have enough pieces to do 7 complete snaps. I got 2 packages, both were missing pieces. One package was only able to do 4 snaps and the other was only able to do 5. Order an extra set (or 2) to complete your project.Intensely irritating.

Used to replace snaps that had corroded on my boat cushions. Time will tell how corrosion resistant they are in a marine environment. Easy enough to install and works like original. On the boat, I smear a gob of lip balm in the snap to lube it an protect it

Not much to report here. Finish appeared to be durable and did not flake off when handled. The only thing I would hope that Dritz would change in the future is to keep the length of the peg on the male snap back holder to be slightly longer. I have purchased 6 packs of the size 24 snaps, some in black and some in chrome.Interestingly enough, the chrome pegs from Walmart were longer than the ones I got from here. Not Amazon's fault but would be nice if Dritz had some consistency with their product since fabric thickness varies. Since these are "heavy duty" wouldn't it make sense the fabric the buyer would be using it on be thicker?Other than that, they do the job and hold fairly tight.Recommended for basic snap work.

I’m sure it would be a good product if it came with all of the parts. I just opened it and it came with no studs so it’s absolutely useless.

Item is good quality however one package was short a couple pieces.
