We have west facing windows, and when it’s 75° outside the sun coming in will keep the air conditioner running and it will get near 80° in the house because our living room bakes from the heat without having our curtains closes all the time! It will also run for hours into the night trying to catch up. Yesterday it was 81 outside. My thermostat was set at 72 and when I came home it was 72 in my house and my air conditioner was not running the cost I paid for these will be paid for in my electric bill in no time!

I read reviews on how to install. I made a template of the size I needed, then made sure it fit on all 6 windowd on the garage doors. I had a second pair of hands and eyes for the first two windows, but did the last 4 by myself. I bought a small foam covered squeegee which worked great for the install. I had a small spray bottle that worked well for coating the window and this product with the soapy water.

I applied this to my kitchen window so that the birds sitting in my bird feeder would not see me watching them. LOL It works like a dream. It was relatively easy to install. I purchased a kit to use for the installation. You will need a really good squeegee and a razor blade. You will want your window to be totally clean and spotless to get a good adhesion. Its been over a year and my install is holding strong. Love it.

The product was easy to install and works great at blocking light and UV rays. The big test will be how long will it last.

READ FOR TIPS: First off, this thing works as you can see in the 1st picture. I installed it by myself, just one person and no previous experience. The product comes with very clear instructions, it's not hard.Tips: 1. I recommend doing this at night time or when the windows are cool. I installed one at night (went on no issues), and the other during the hot morning (the soapy water kept drying and the film was not as easy to work with, plus you have the sun in your face). 2. When it comes to the soapy water, be generous! Like dripping down the window generous. 3. You definitely need a squeegee, or in my case, I used a small plastic ruler, worked just fine, but don't do it without it, it won't work. 4. I didn't peel the whole piece of film at once cause it kept rolling on itself. So I would peel about 7-8 inches, add soapy water to it, and place it on the window, then I would keep rolling it down while adding the water. Once placed, squeeze with the squeegee right down the center of the window top to bottom, that's gonna hold it in place, and now you can continue "squeegeeing" out all the excess water and taking out all the bubbles. 5. GIVE IT TIME TO CLEAR. When it's first done it will look foggy, because of the soap and water. Let it dry overnight, it will clear up. 6. As you can see in the 2nd picture, my windows have some imperfections that I thought were going to create bubbles, but they don't. Just make sure to squeeze really well when applying. 7. Lastly, I bought the lightest film and I like the amount of light that still comes in the room, and I can definitely feel the difference in temperature. I would say about an 80% improvement in terms of heat coming in.If you take the time to do things correctly, this product is definitely a win.
