Can this be usd for a shower curtain ?

I have had them outside on a porch for 13 years and being stainless, has never rusted nor has it lost it's original tension.

I cannot give you an actual weight that they will support, but I can tell you what I have hung on it, and it has survived wind storms in CA. I have my wire stretched on 10' spreads, between 4X4' posts, On this I have four 10'X12' heavy duty drop cloths (100% heavy duty cotton). During storms, they have been blowing and soaked with rain. They have survived all of this with no damage or sagging. If you look at the heavy duty drop cloths at Home Depot or Lowes, you will be able to gauge the amount of weight they are supporting, and then imagine them wet. It's the best I can do to give you some idea.
