Woven Wire Mesh, 40 mesh (Stainless Steel 304L) – 0.41mm Aperture – by Inoxia Cut Size: 15cm x 15cm

This SS Mesh works great. I ordered this to use as the lower vent in a terrarium I'm building. The vent itself is only ~1/2" x 10" so I'll be able to get plenty more out of this piece ( 12" x 12" ). The mesh itself came in a well protected, heavy cardboard "envelope". No bent corners, no frays and was clean. I was able to cut it easily with a pair of simple kitchen shears and its easy to bend / fold but if you're needing sharp clean corners / edges, you need to a break or a heavy straight-edge. It's mesh is tight enough to keep in pin-head crickets and sprintails but still allow for some airflow. I probably would have been fine with the slightly wider # 30 Mesh and gotten a little bit better airflow but wanted to be sure since this was the first time I ordered it. Next time, I'll more than likely order the # 30.

I tried to get a black bezel 5.25" air duct for some time but unable to get a good one.Why not try DIY ? Got an old bezel and cut 3 x 28mm holes in it and then glued a piece of this mesh on the inside face .... result a perfectly good filtered duct for less than £2 with loads of mesh to make more.It's stainless steel so should not rust plus quite strong. Appears to be well made product.Seller very quick with delivery and packaged in strong cardboard envelope.

As expected

used it in the bottom of flower pots to try and prevent slugs getting into plants, but still let water drain away. Will have better idea come spring 2017

Done the job I required it for, which was to replace a sump secondary sheet oil filter in a 1947 Ruston diesel roller engine.
