I have bought Penzey spices for years. I love their vanilla. I was pretty amazed on reading their label recently to find that sugar appears in the list of ingredients before vanilla. If you are putting the vanilla into something that has sugar already, so what. I've been eliminating refined flour and sugar, so now this extract is off limits for me. Not sure why I'm paying so much for added sugar? I wonder how much sugar is in their other products. They pretend to care about people, but this added sugar is problematic.
