Finally a feeder that is actually easy to dismantle, clean and put back together again.
I have only received this feeder today, so cannot review how well the birds like/dislike it.From the perspective of product quality, ease of use, cleaning etc my first impression was 'Wow'.The first thing I noted was how much wider the feeder is, like possibly twice as wide as other feeders. This can be either good or not, depending on your personal preferences. Definitely a subjective point. The general feel of the feeder is that it is strong, well made and good quality. What you expect from Jacobi Jayne products. All the green pieces (lid, bird perches & base) are metal and are very well painted. No sharp spots or such. The hanging loop is nice and solid metal and is attached in such a way that allows free rotation without any chance of it unscrewing and separating. The lid attaches with a twist motion and comes completely off the feeding tube. So if you have cunning squirrel visitors that can undo containers then this might not be the right bird feeder for you.The best part of this feeder for me is that it can be totally taken apart without the need for any tools at all. There isn't a single screw anywhere on the product. I am so happy that finally a company has designed a quality feeder with us in mind. The 2nd best point of this feeder is how wide the tube is. I have lost count of how many times that I have cut myself when cleaning slimmer bird feeders.I can actually get my entire hand and more in to this tube (see photo).I have high hopes that this bird feeder will stand the test of time.If Jacobi Jayne reads these reviews then can I request that you offer different colours? Apparently bright yellow works to attract Goldfinches (I refer you to your trial niger seed feeder in bright yellow), and to be honest I am bored with boring green and I bet other customers are too. Some bright coloured feeders (red, blue, yellow, pink, purple) would be really appreciated. If I had to pick any bad points, my only minor gripe is the price. It is rather expensive, but if it lasts longer than the other feeders that have all failed then I guess the old adage "you get what you pay for" will prove true.Monday 26th July update.I have been offering bird seed for a couple of years now with not much interest from our feathered friends. I have tried different brands and types of seed as well as different feeders. So much seed got wasted because it wasn't being eaten. We are now getting visitors actually using this feeder. House sparrows like to perch on it facing the feeder, something they can't do with the traditional pole perch on other feeders. This U style perch works a treat. Also we have been seeing a new visitor, yet to be identified, but word is getting around that our deluxe feeder is the place to be :DThe design of the hanging loop means that there isn't any flexibility when hanging the feeder back up, so I have to tilt the feeder to get it on to the hook. It's a minor negative and I think the designers opted for durability over flexibility, something I am happy to accept. There are ways to overcome this issue if necessary;1. A cable tie attached to the loop would do the job (or 2 for the large size to be really sure, due to weight when full)2. A large key ring loop3. A sturdy S hookJust 3 ideas that spring to mind. All in all, I am happy that it is being used and that cleaning it really is a breeze.Highly recommend.

I now own three ...
I've used bird feeders for years and frequently been reduced to fury by poor design. I've been a Droll Yankee user for years so Big Easy had to compete with high quality. Big Easy is my new love! The quality is excellent (metal parts, UVA stabilised plastic tube, and all parts replaceable/guaranteed) but it is the design that's wonderful. The metal top has an internal air-flow design to allow air to circulate freely at the top, whilst at the bottom the seed rests on a yellow, perforated insert to allow the seed to dry out again should it get wet. For the first time in years, I haven't had any wasted, clumping seed in my feeders! The yellow insert is also sloped down each side towards the bottom ports, so the birds empty the feeder completely instead of a perma-frost of food they can't get to that leads to horrible cleaning problems! But there are things to get used to: the metal top cap unscrews in a kind of two-stage click action and until you get used to this it is possible to think you've put the top on properly when you haven't - just get used to making sure you've properly clicked it on (*something to consider if you have dexterity problems). When you first take it apart for cleaning and remove the ports, the perspex tube can make some terrible creaking noises - just remember your lifetime guarantee :o) The tube is actually very good quality, and once you get used to how the ports twist-click in out for cleaning the design is just brilliant. No more trying to clean around immovable ports, or manhandling screwdrivers and losing screws. It just clicks apart and back together. The bottom also has a good twist-release mechanism which, again once you're used to it, makes it fantastically easy for deep cleaning. Again, just make sure you click it back together again properly before loading it with seed! The Big Easy is completely emptied by the birds every couple of days, sometimes even every day and I'm spending a fortune on seed ... but it's worth it to see the birds, and I have no waste seed except what the birds drop. So, I could even be on the way to purchasing Big Easy No4 (and getting a bank loan for seed!).

Best bird feeder ever!
It’s not often I get excited, but this bird feeder is the best I’ve ever bought. I thought the seed ventilation system might be a bit of hype, but it really does work and keeps seeds fresh. I have an old feeder up next to it and that goes mouldy so quickly and needs frequent washing in comparison. I will replace it with another one of these in due course. The birds love the new feeder and were on there within minutes of me putting it up as if to say, come on, hurry up! I get blue tits, great tits,, goldfinch, bullfinch, chaffinch, sparrows, long tailed tits, nuthatch and robins on there. They love it. The big birds can’t get on it. Yes it’s more expensive than your average feeder which made me think twice, but it is absolutely worth it just for the well thought out design and durability. This will be my go to from now on.

Birds and squirrel love it.
It's well put together and look like it will be easy to clean. It's not squirrel proof, but I don't mind as long as they don't put it down. Birds took to it straight away and the perches make it easier for chaffinch and robin to land and feed. Fill with sunflower seed chips and it is awash with goldfinches. Only concern is the plastic tube seems quite thin, and I worry if it falls there may be damage. Also, because the hanger is not the usual wire loop I've had to use some additional cord to hang it in the same spot.

Big Easy Bird Feeder
This is the best bird feeder I have ever owned and I have had lots having fed birds for fifty years. I use mine for Sunflower Hearts and what I like is that the seeds stay dry and don't clog up at bottom of feeder. Because the feeder is wider than normal feeders it is easier to fill with seed and does not need filling so often. The birds like these feeders as it is easy for them to perch on the rings. Another good thing is that they are so easy to keep clean. They are aptly named and I most certainly recommend them.

Funktioniert
Kaufen!
