Ayli Women's Short Sleeve 1950s Retro Vintage Hollywood Party Large Swing Midi Dress

I LOVE this dress.But size up.Srsly. It needs to be ironed AND steamed (it comes VERY wrinkly) before wearing. The 5% spandex slight stretch could get it over my boobage(38G - yeah it fit that!!!). Figure flattering, not too low in the cleavage. Do not let the length of the sleeves in the pics fool you. I'm 5.5 and the sleeves came to about an inch above my elbow. And with 5%spandex helps keep the wobbles away. Great!!!I got it for a funeral, but I'm already using in my reg rotation as a fun dress even for work. I paired it with a vintage 1946 faux fur zip apres-ski cotton sweater, pearls and my great grams 1942 nurses watch!Just purchased the same dress, only in the lemon pattern.

First off, the sizing — the tag size on the dress is s/m/l/xl, etc. but the size listed on amazon for ordering is the numeric size - 10, 12, 14, ... I ordered a 20 and the tag says 4X. This is a beautiful and flattering retro style dress. The waist is short because it is an empire waist. The skirt is VERY full. I have huge hips & it fit fine. It does have stretch to it, but I still heard the rip others mentioned when putting it on & taking it off. A zipper would probably be better than the pull on style. The collar is stiff and decorative and the overall material is stiff. But that is how it maintains it’s shape and style.

I really enjoyed wearing this dress. I am 5'7", 38G and 190. The 2XL or 16 seemed just a bit big. I usually wear between 14 and 16. It wasn't so big I needed to exchange it, but I would certainly have tried on a size down to compare if I were in a store. So, a few clarifications for a couple things I read in reviews before I bought it. One: It is not high waisted, it is absolutely empire. Like, it tied right underneath my breasts. It doesn't sound cute, but I was surprised at how cute it was. Also, someone mentioned that it is just a pull-over dress, which can compromise seams if it's at all too small (part of why I ordered a large size). There is actually a side zipper so there should be plenty of room to get it over your head, shoulders, and breasts without concern. It is a lovely dress. I got the lemon pattern and the yellow and blue are both so vivid and bright. The fabric has a good heft and does not require a slip for modesty. I did, however, purchase a petticoat with ruffles to add to the flair and fun of it. Definitely a good purchase. Thanks to the other reviews on this dress, I knew to order a size up otherwise this would not have fit my shoulders. I’m 5’10”, 142 lbs and I am a 34 C bust and I just fit into the medium. I washed this in cold, dried on low and the shrinkage was minimal. The dress is very cute and the price is good. The fabric is a bit rough and lining would have really added to its look but then it would have cost more.

Though I had to send my dress back, it still gets 5 stars. I ordered a size thinking it would run small as most online products do. This dress fots true to size so, order accordingly.The material is super nice and quality. Its not flimsy my any means. The bow adds a nice touch as well. I tried on with a black petticoat and it was super cute. I plan to order my correct size once my return is processed.

This is a great dress for the price! I'm a costumer and ordered it to fit an actor in a stage production because we were in a time crunch & didn't have time to make a dress. It's a flattering design for any body type! She's a high school girl and a size 2 X who doesn't normally wear dresses. It warmed my heart when she looked in the mirror & said "I LOVE this dress!"It's great for the price, be prepared to Iron it a lot! You may want to turn it inside out & starch it a little?

I brought a size to big on my part. I am usuaally a 6 or 8 but i brought a 10 becauze i was scared it wouldnt fit. Was alittle loose. wore it at work. For ly candycane outfit.

 Recieved sooooo many compliments on this black dress! Wore it to a wedding one week and then a black tie affair the following week lol it Doesn't really wrinkle, has nice Stretch! Plenty of room to dance and EAT!!!! Lol purchased a black petticoat from amazon to go underneath, tied the belt in back instead of the side. Absolutely STUNNING!!!! Sorry i dont have a better picture
