Installing an external SSD or a 2.5 inch hard drive is easy. Works as advertised. Getting read/write speeds in the range of 450/420. This will work with any USB 3.0 port.

I received it today and it is well boxed and has some instructions even though most people probably don't need them. Never hurts. The cord is actually a decent length. Instead of being 4 inches long I think it's more like 10. I could be off about that all I know is the last one I had (different company and not USB 3.0 but cheap and I needed it quick) had a really short cord and the case basically dangled from the side of my laptop when it was plugged in to the side while I had my laptop on a cooling stand on my lap. It goes together really well and even has black square simple foam insert that helps keep everything snug. Not fancy but I would put it near the end of the drive instead of the center so that you can close it. It has an on and off switch that I could imagine would come in handy in some situations that you didn't want to unplug it but you also didn't want it being accessed. Obviously I noticed right away that it was fast. Since I was used to using USB 2.0 and a case designed for non SSD drives even though they fit and that it did the job? The old one did it very slowly. The difference was obvious and I'm sure that's true of all cases that are 3.0 working off of an SSD. Simple review? I'm very happy with the purchase. It works great and it's not a piece of junk. Which is all we can ask for sometimes when we order online. (That and we get all the parts.) I don't see why spending any more money on a different case with with make your life any easier other than the satisfaction of not having to worry about having money and what to do with it. Because this works perfectly fine and is a solid design and well packaged product. I say well packaged cuz that ensures that you get all the damn parts including the cable and stuff! Hah! It actually comes boxed like it was meant to be sold in a store and completely taped shut and closed etc

Tenia otros case con el conector tipo MicroB, son horribles! Y eso es por que el conector MicroB por naturaleza es muy débil, y puede causar cortos e interrupciones. Eso me paso a mi y perdí 5 maquinas virtuales por corrupción de la partición.PEEERO, probé este, y es simplemente espectacular. Para empezar el conector tipo A es MUY robusto y mantiene la conexión totalmente firme, puedes mover el cable que no tienes problema alguno y JAMAS se desconecta. Es totalmente seguro!Luego, la velocidad de transferencia. Fácil alcanzas entre 450 y 500 MB/s. Si usas SSD es simplemente un bólido, y aun con discos tradicionales notaras la diferencia.Seguimos con la forma de armarlo, no necesitas herramientas, y es tan fácil, que hasta un bebe puede armarlo.Y el final: Tiene switch para prender y apagar, lo que lo hace mas seguro para desconectar.Recomendado!!
