Fanaa (2006) - Aamir Khan - Kajol - Bollywood - Indian Cinema - Hindi Film [DVD] [NTSC]

This film is fantastic! I got it last weeks and I have watched it at least 10 times! I mainly watch favourite scenes and the songs but it has kept me entertained for more than a week! This film has such fantastic music and the story is one that is hard to forget. It stands out. The cinematography is very good whick makes the whole film beautiful. There is nothing small about this film its grand even when they are only in the humble log cabin in the wilderness.There are some good comedy moments in the first half, which is the lighter more innocent and youthful side of the story. it is a great contrast with the second half which is very serious and dramatic. this is the kind of movie that bollywood fans deserve. it is one i would happily show to non bollywood fans as an all round great film.This is the first movie I have seen with Kajol and I have become a fan for life! Every performance in this film is great and the great change in the characters from the first half to the second is remarkable, especially in Aamir Khan's character. The contrasts even in colour between the first and second half of this film shows a film maker who is extremely talented and dedicated. there is a lot poetry quoted in this movie and it is clear that everyone involved in this film from writers to set and costume designers to musicians and actors, all have an understanding of what poetry is. this is a film that could be analised in the way that people analyse poerty and literature. it has so many great contrasts in mood as the characters mature and the story changes.all the coulours,music and innocence of the first half resonates like a ghost in the wilderness of the second half.Tere dil me.n merii saa.nso.n ko panaah mil jaa'eTere ishq me.n merii jaan fanaa ho jaa'e.

I enjoyed this film so much. It literally has everything. Action scenes and romance and dance sequences and wonderful music.The plot twists are also brilliant and i just love this film. Don't think this film dips its toes into each new adventure - it immerses itself completely in each new episode and it does it with craft and intelligence.The performances are really superb and I fell in love with both characters to be honest.The film also has authenticity and a real life of its own. It is truly unique and it is a cinematic pleasure that i won't forget in a hurry.This film has heart and it wants you to fall in love with it.I'm also addicted to the soundtrack and beautifully produced music.I love it and let yourself go and fall in love with this joyous movie. Great cinema like great food should always be sweet and sour and perhaps a little bitter but usually one is lacking or another but fanaa is a truly great dish that will have you coming back for more.

i was a bit sceptical of this movie, having just watched kuch kuch hota hai and ddlj etc, and wasn't sure if i could handle a sad film. But thank god i did, it's just incredible. The whole film is so beautiful, in particular the first half. Kajol and Aamir Khan are amazing in the roles, and so convincing. You must, must watch this movie, it does not disappoint. (slightly off topic, but the packaging the film comes in is also fabulous lol)

The Hindi Film "Fanaa" is marvelous from every aspect, that is story plot (intense action, suspence and love story), scenery (landscapes), excellent acting and fabulous music. I believe that this is the crown of all Bollywood films together with the also magnificent "Veer-Zaara". Not a surprising fact, since both are Yash Raj films. Highly recommended.

Starts as a pretty lightweight bad comedy then evolves into to sickly lovely-dovey stuff however this is actually is necessary in getting to know the characters and know how they feel for when the film really gets going about half way through. It's a brilliant piece of story-telling, really moving and stunningly beautiful to look at. I believe that Kajol is a huge star in India and I can see why; even though us English can't understand Hindi, as the film unfolds you feel as though you really know her.

I've tried to tire myself out by watching this movie over and over, but its still brilliant!!The movie is humouros, sad, shocking, thrilling and much more!Aamir Khan and Kajol have both done great in their come back roles.This movie will move you.The songs are great especailly 'Chand Sifarish' & 'mere haath mein' being personal favourites!

Great SFX compared to Dhoom 3 when the two Aamirs jumped off the bridge

I absolutely enjoyed this film. Watched it at least 4 times. Aimer Khan and Kajol performances were amazing. I was spellbound throughout. The attention to detail and the acting from the other cast members was truly beautiful to see.Worth every penny spend on the DVD.
