Quick expiration
Delicious but expire way too soon! I bought an 8 pack thinking it would last me 8-12 months and they all expire two months from now.

Immaculate Baking Mix for Brownies was easy to make and a real hit with my family.
I love brownies so I was excited to try these Immaculate Baking Mix Brownies. I have never heard nor used this brand before so this was to be a bit of an experiment. I noted there is a short ingredient list on the box with no ingredients that you need to be a chemist to pronounce. A very good start. The brownies are very easy to mix up - you need the mix, 2 eggs and 1 cube of butter (you supply) and a bowl. I used unsalted butter as I do for making all baked goodies. The mix includes some chocolate chips but I substituted some butterscotch chips, added 2/3 C chopped pecans and 1 rounded teaspoon of instant espresso powder. My additions took only a couple more minutes to do. I was looking for a little extra special flavor. I usually add a little coffee flavor to chocolate goodies because I think it boosts the chocolate flavor. The batter turned out to be a thick, gooey batter that was easy to spread in an 8" square pan that I had lined with parchment paper. I baked the brownies for a half-hour at 350 degrees and they came out perfectly. I let them cool for a while and then cut them into 2" squares. All I can is they were very well received by my family. They were chewy and delicious and I must admit, they did not last long. I usually use Ghirardelli Brownie Mix and my family loves those brownies. The way my family devoured the Immaculate brownies I think indicates they liked them just as much as the Ghirardelli brownies. The experiment was a success.Immaculate Baking sells another brownie mix that is gluten free. This particular brownie mix is not gluten free. It contains wheat flour so anyone who is gluten intolerant, beware.

Yummy
Best brownie mix ever! I've tried them all and this is THE ONE! Better than homemade any day. The added bonus is lack of artificial ingredients..truly like scatch baking.New comment 8/5/15: The price has gone from $31.84 for a package of 8 to over $42! Now they are way over priced and I will not be purchasing this brand from Amazon again.

My favorite brownie mix.
This mix is the best I've ever used. I stopped making brownies from scratch because of this mix. I bake them for my grandkids in college and they love them. I add walnuts and extra mini dark chocolate chips to customize them a bit. Very yummy!

It's a mix, but one of the better ones
I get immediately suspicious when I see "Scratch Baking Mix" on a box. It tells me that the manufacturers are willing to exaggerate or even lie to pull in customers. By definition, "made from scratch," excludes a packaged, boxed mix. True, you have to add two eggs and an entire stick of butter to this mix, but, still, that is not "from scratch." God, I get so tired of all this hype, l don't you? Everything that is sold these days seems to be dishonest in one way or another, from 'natural' products, to houses, from cars to politicians, which tells us just what the money-makers think of us. But can you blame them? We so often let them get away with it.At any rate, in the service of honesty, I must tell you that I hate brownies. In the past 30 years I've eaten exactly one brownie that I absolutely loved. The rest were moderately to extremely inferior to that one special one made by a now departed friend. Her brownies were homemade (even this word has lost its original meaning since some manufacturers are calling their boxed mixes "homemade " because you end up putting some ingredients in at your home!), and aside from a deep chocolaty taste, were crisp on top and moist beneath. So now you know what my definition is of an excellent brownie.Immaculate Brownies came out with a good, satisfying chocolate taste, but they were too dry all the way through. And speaking of honesty, I had to laugh when they put the calories per piece at 200. They claim that there are 16 pieces in the box, but let me tell you, in a baking pan 8 x 8, I got nine medium-sized ones! You do the math.I followed instructions to the letter and felt that it was unlikely my fault or the fault of my normal-type oven that the brownies came out too dry. I offered them to some friends down the hall who stopped over when they smelled that divine warm chocolate scent and by that time the brownie crumbs had hardened to little pebbles. Still, my friends agreed with me that, overall, compared to other mixes this one was more chocolaty and even the "little pebbles" tasted good.

The best brownie mix

taste good, cooked unevenly
First, I see that a lot of the reviews on this product are for the gluten-free variety. If you need gluten-free, make sure that is what you order. The regular brownie mix, which I am reviewing, contains wheat flour so it is not gluten-free.These brownies are easy to make. Personally, I almost always make brownies from scratch because they are one of the easiest things to bake. Using a mix like this doesn't really save much time, and they certainly don't taste better than from scratch brownies. That being said, if you really want to use a mix, this one tasted fairly good. The chocolate was nice and rich, but not too dark; I prefer a sweet brownie, and that's what this is.My brownies didn't cook evenly. They were hard as a rock on the outside of the pan, when the very inside of the pan was still bubbling and liquid and not fully cooked. I used the same pan I always make brownies in, and followed the baking time on the box. The parts that did cook nicely tasted delicious.I plan to go back to making my brownies from scratch, but if you need a mix, this one tastes great. You just need to make sure they cook evenly.
