Worked in 5 minutes!!
Well I didn't think I would be writing this review today. I received the trap this morning and thought I might as well set it up, not expecting anything to happen for a few days after reading other reviews. I went upstairs for 5 minutes, came back down to find a huge rat caught in it, eating the chocolate biscuit I had put in. I can understand why my 3 cats hadn't wanted to tackle it!! The only problem I have now is the fact that this is not the one I had seen eating the cat biscuits out of their bowl in the kitchen!! Oh, and the fact that the hubby won't be home for hours and I am frightened to move the trap in case it gets out 😯 I have chucked a towel over it as the bloody thing keeps squealing!! So I can definitely say this trap works.Update!!!Well after taking big momma to live happily ever after by a nice river bank I reset the trap. I didn't have any luck for three days even though I could hear lots of scurrying noise behind my kitchen sink. I tried peanut butter (not just any old peanut butter, it was M&S crunchy peanut butter with maple and peacan!!) and hey presto I got six one after the other. The next morning one of the cats had actually earned her keep and killed one and there was another in the trap. I got some more today and total count is now twelve babies. I am hoping that's it but will leave it out for a while. I found it really easy to use and yes, it can be a bit sensitive but it needs to be to catch them.

It works!
Bought 2 of these to try to catch rats which were visiting our front and back gardens to eat the food we put out for the birds. Didn't want to try to poison them as this could affect other creatures too, but didn't really want them around, so this seemed worth a try! The traps are solidly made and haven't shown any sign of rust so far. We baited ours with the fat balls that they'd been eating anyway. Much to my surprise, just a couple of hours after putting them out, we caught our first (baby) rat! Over the space of a couple of weeks we caught seven rats - 6 babies and one adult - even catching 2 youngsters at the same time in the same trap! All were taken to a safe location several miles away and released - it's easy to open the cage door to let them out.The setting of the trap is a bit fiddly and the cage door did close without anything inside fairly often (could have been the jackdaws) but a quick re-set and we were back on track. We also caught a few sparrows, but they didn't come to any harm and were easily released. In conclusion, these are definitely worth a try if you have a rat problem.

Best rat trap ever!!???
I found this the best rat trap I've ever tried, caught 3 rats three nights running! just waiting for number 4 to take the outer bait (peanut butter) I know this is an humane trap but I didn't want them coming back so they were dispached. I think the main reason the trap is so good is the fact that it is so open and airy and doesn't look too intimidating to mr. rat. Would highly recommendUp date.I'm afraid No. 4 just got smart, eating outer bait but not going near the trap, guess he knows what will happen after his mates dissapeared. Anyone any ideas!!!??Up date 2:-Gotcha!!! Guess he got careless.Notice No. 5 is taking the outer bait. Here's hopingUpdate 3:-Number 5 and number 6 safely in the bag!I see number 7 skulking about, we'll see how cleaver he is.Watch this spaceUpdate 4:-Well, candidate No. 7 must have been the biggest rat I've ever seen and really hungry! It's a wonder he got into the trap! Ate all the cooked ham I gave him. Still, he'll give me no more bother.No. 8 is being really smart, keeps taking the outer bait but not really going into the trap. Going to try chocolate buttons nextI place a layer card on the floor of the trap (tied down because they're smart and pull it out if not) with 4 blobs of peanut butter down the centre with just a little on the trigger. Theory Being, by the time they're eating blob no. 4 and nothing has happened they must feel quite confident......... until the door close's and realise they're in deep s...

Rats didn't fall for it.
Although it's a sturdy easy to use item, the rats didn't fall for it! Told by pest control they are too clever for it and will walk round it.

Mouse caught within a few hours of delivery!!
I heard scratching in the loft about 4am in the morning. It sounded quite loud so thought it must be a squirrel. Jumped on Amazon to find the best kind of trap. I didn’t really want to kill it or poison it, to be left with the stink and trying to find it!I read a few reviews and decided on this trap.I played about with the mechanism to ensure it was set as sensitive as possible. I then placed some cardboard on the floor of the trap and behind the bait. I used a larger piece of bread with peanut butter spread on it, for the bait. I also put a very small piece at the front of the trap to tempt it in further. I placed the trap near where I heard the scratching in the loft, set it and went to bed.Checked on it in the morning and the door was down! Turns out it was a small field mouse! I thought it might have been too big to catch a mouse but it worked perfectly! The mouse was safe and didn’t seem too distressed. I wrapped the cage in a towel and took it for a drive, far away to a field. I opened the door and it went happily running on its way, in to a bush. Perfect all round. Best still, I can reuse it over and so if it happens again, it’s ready to go. I have reset it in the loft, just in case there are anymore running about up there
