Bright, colourful and fun toy
It is very easy to turn on the sound. You simply press the end of one of the tentacles and the sound starts straight away; shake or hit the head, and it will stop instantly.I was most impressed with the blue tentacle with the bubbles, as it plays a tune with bubble sounds; the others are the instruments which are appliqued onto each of the tentacles and play the appropriate musical instrument. When you press one tentacle it will play either until it comes to a natural end or when you press for another sound. If you press two together at the same time, they both play, so you could build up some harmonies that are different every time. You cannot adjust the sound, but it is not too loud for little ears. Each sound plays for about 25 seconds. With one texture on the bottom and another on the top of each arm, it is both tactile and stimulating for the child to have in front of them to play with. On top of the head there is a small amount of lime green felt hair (I didn't know octopuses had any), but hidden in this is the soft fabric hook so that you can attach it to the cot, buggy or playpen. It's not too big, about 10cm long, and it will fit on to the top of a cot perfectly; the two sides of the hook are joined together with Velcro. The octopus’s large head and different sized eyes are a bit weird, but the overall effect is still cute and cuddly. It needs three AAA batteries (which are included), and there is a small compartment on the bottom of the octopus that houses them safely. It’s well made, but because of the batteries I doubt that full-scale washing would be practical - just sponge wiping it would be better.

Lively toy- will grow with baby from infant to toddler
The media could not be loaded. I really like B Toys and was excited to see this musical octopus. Bought it for my 5 month old son. He’s still a little young to hold it on his own so I hung it from his play gym.The octopus is a fairly large one, plush and very soft. Each tentacle plays a different musical instrument and the head plays music as well.My 5 month old can’t press the tentacles to play music yet but he enjoys swatting at it, pulling it and trying to grasp it. On day 1, he played with it for over 10 minutes. I see him using it for several more months to come once he is able to hold it on his own and press the tentacles to play music. The sound itself isn’t too loud but it’s also not annoying for adults. Perfect for play at home and even in the car.I take off one star because the Amazon pricing was 10€ more than what the official company website was selling it for! Unfortunately, I only saw this after we had removed the octopus from its packaging and could not return it.

A brilliant toy for infants
The idea of this toy is fantastic: it's an octopus with a picture of a musical instrument at the end of each tentacle. It plays songs in whichever instrument corresponds to the tentacle you press. Each tentacle is also a different colour and the head is blue so it's bright and colourful too. It plays 6 different songs: I recognised Twinkle Twinkle LIttle Star, Frere Jaques and If You're Happy and You Know It but none of the others. It plays the songs in a set order so you can't choose a song but it stops after it plays a song and plays the next one when you press a tentacle. The tentacles have pictures of a guitar, a steel drum, a piano, a microphone (slightly weird as it's a high pitched chorus of sounds rather than an actual voice), a drum, a saxophone, a banjo and bubbles (my favourite-gurgly noises that are meant ot sound like bubbles popping). It stops playing music when you shake it and if you hit it's head it starts the next song. If you press two tentacles at a time then it plays the two instruments you have pressed on-I have tried to get it to play 3 or 4 instruments at a time (what can I say? I have long fingers!) but it will only play a maximum of two.I'm sure the songs will become irritating when you have heard them a thousand times, but the are still ok and manageable after a few plays (possibly because of the different instruments). This is a lovely toy and I think aimed correctly at 10 months +.

Fantastic musical fun for little hands ...
This is a brilliant toy for babies from B. Toys … a really cute octopus with eight musical instruments. This stuffed toy has a whole heap of musical sounds for baby to explore … press any one of eight tentacles to hear a tune using a particular instrument, press another and the same tune will continue with a totally different instrument. You can even press two tentacles at the same time to hear both playing at once. When you get fed up hearing the tune simply press the octopus's head and a new tune will begin. There are six different songs with eight instruments which include ... guitar, saxophone, banjo, drum, steel drum, bubbles, keyboard and another of which I am unsure. Each instrument only plays for around 25 seconds and if you shake the octopus the music will stop. The octopus is beautifully designed in soft materials with delightful details. This toy measures 22.9cm in height x 15.2cm in diameter. It is extremely well made and all of stitching and finishing is superb. Our nephew's 6 month old daughter really loves this octopus and she has been having a lot of fun with 'making music' … taking it everywhere with her, even out in the car and she must have it with her when she goes to bed.

Flat battery!!
Bought as a Christmas gift and on opening Amazon box it didn't work. No instructions & most searches on net were in Polish. Eventually found instructions on line. I takes 3x AAA batteries in a secret compartment in the "bottom".The three batteries were totally flat. Instructions were tucked in the secret compartment.Disappointed with the seller but the toy seems fine.
