An absolute must for any bodywork practitioner!
As I mentioned in the title this is a great book for anyone who practices bodywork! I don't know of a better text book for Tui Na/massage than this one. I'm an acupuncturist and exercise physiologist so I have a large library on the subject of bodywork and caring for musculoskeletal issues just by default due to all of my past education on the subject. This is one of my #1 goto books!

Wow! One of the best illustrated books on Tui-Na & Chi-Gung!
I'm very impressed with the quality of detail in this work. Not only did Tom Bisio provide excellent instructions on Tui-Na but, he also included Chi-Gung and Tien Gung that greatly aids one in perfecting their Tui-Na practice. This hardback book is definitely a treasure and well worth the money!

The real thing
The text is very simple but very profound - if mastered. Black and white iluustrations. The authors are the real thing.

An incredible Resource
In the spirit of disclosure, I have studied with the authors of this text. This text is a departure from the other tui na manuals in English on the market. It departs by not only presenting a description of the hand techniques used in tui na, but also by presenting protocols for treating specific conditions. This unique presentation allows the reader to use the material in clinical settings almost immediately. It also allows the reader to extrapolate how the techniques might be used for conditions that are not presented within the book. The book is divided into four basic sections. The first section is a general full body protocol aimed at regulating and assessing the entire body. The second section deals with conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and fingers. The third section deals with conditions of the hip, knee, ankle and toes. The final section deals with internal medicine conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. In addition to hand techniques and protocols for conditions, the book provides several sets of qi gong designed to prepare the practitioner for the rigors of practicing body work on a daily basis. It should be noted that while this book presents the hand techniques in detail, these techniques are not designed to be learned solely from reading this book. Instead, this book is designed to be used in conjunction with instruction from a qualified teacher. As a practicing acupuncturist, this book has been an invaluable resource in my clinic and I frequently reference it when presented with conditions that I think could benefit from tui na.Interested parties should also note that the authors of this book also teach this material in seminars throughout the world.
