Adorable and delicious -- just what the kids want
The princess mac 'n cheese is adorable and the taste is much better than some other organic brands. Now the girls keep asking me for "princess mac 'n cheese" -- I guess we'll have to buy it again! :)

This high protein Mac & Cheese should please your “little Princesses”.
Though I generally review entertainment products on Amazon I do occasionally review food products and after the January “virtual” Fancy Food Show (Specialty Food Assn), I saw this pasta made for Princesses! Now anyone who has a daughter, granddaughter or (in my case) a niece – actually three – the word “princess “is like magic.Think of how many Disney princesses there are. So, I wanted to order some to give them (in this case) for Valentine’s Day, but I wanted to also see if it tasted good. I did notice that company (based in Nashville) has lots of other shaped pasta for all kinds of interest.I saw that there was a Mac and Cheese version too in the same shape and I wanted to try that also. So we ordered both. (the purchase is under my wife’s name as that is where the Amazon Prime account is registered)Well the package came last week, and I tried the plain version last night – with red sauce - and posted my review.Today the Mac and Cheese version came, and I made that for dinner tonight. I was pleased with it and liked the ingredientsThe box is adorable in pink and there’s a brief story on the back from the owners (Carey and John.). Unlike the plain variety, which is just ONE ingredient: “organic durum wheat flower”. This product is made in a facility that also processes nuts. There is a bag of the pasta itself and an envelope of the “cheddar cheese sauce mix”. ALL the ingredients in the sauce mix are “organic”.The shapes are of princesses, crowns and castles. I followed directions to boil plenty of water and then cook slowly fir 5-7 minutes. I used 7 minutes and tested a piece. It was al dente. I’m sure you could cook a total of 10 if your children prefer it softer. Then – per the instructions – I drained the pasta and – while the pot was still hot – I added 6 tablespoons of 2% milk and the cheese mix and stirred quickly to create the sauce. I added back the pasta and stirred well. I then served it. I liked that you could make out the shapes easier than with a red sauce. I’m sure you want your kids to know it’s aimed at them. The box contains 10 oz of pasta. Per the nutrition facts on package – easy to read – the whole package makes 3 ½ cups prepared – with a serving being one cup. There are 300 calories in each serving plus 2.5g of fat. You get 3g of fiber and a whopping 11g of protein. Of course, that comes from the cheese sauce. There is a good deal of sodium (600mg – or 27% of DV) but you aren’t eating this every day. No one ever said Mac & Cheese was “healthy”, but it’s a treat like ice cream.I’ll be giving the other box to my “princesses” and I’m pretty sure they will love them.BTW, the package I received from Amazon has a “best by” date of November 2022 – so it’ll last a long time.I’m glad I found this at the Food Show and can recommend it for anyone with a “little princess”Steve Ramm
