Gardening 101: Learn How to Plan, Plant, and Maintain a Garden (The Best of Martha Stewart Living)

I've recommended this book to numerous people who've asked me how I figured out how to start a garden. Granted, I'm still a rookie, but as the book encourages: the best way to learn how to garden is just to try gardening. A fantastic source for learning rudimentary tactics (like, super rudimentary), this book has it all... ideas for design, container tips, even a tool glossary. And in typical Martha Stewart fashion (especially "vintage" Martha Stewart), every photo is gorgeous and will leave you ready to get growing. Thanks, Martha, for this timeless classic.

Good guide for a beginner or novice. There are great steps and pictures to follow. It is easy to follow and find any category and sub categories. It’s informative but not too wordy. I hate going to blog pages that drone on and on, this gets to the point.

This was purchased as a gift for a new gardner. Arrived quickly and well packaged. Not a dent on the book. The information is timeless. The photos good and clear and in color. I have not been disappointed in a Martha Stewart product yet. I got a copy for myself as well. The recipient was delighted.

As always, Martha is tops for garden know how, tips, and practical how-to's. I wish it could have been a bit more comprehensive but at any rate I'll take quality over quantity any day.

It's a beautiful, well-designed book filled with lots of information, ideas, tips, tricks, and illustrations on how to begin a garden. Of course, even seasoned pros might find the beautiful photographs useful for generating new ideas for established garden plots. As with all things Martha, it's a useful guide with all relevant information condensed down into a manageable, easy to understand format. It doesn't disappoint.

Book arrived with sun fading/damage. Which is fine. The actual content of the book is great. The kind of well-thought/researched/designed content that you used to expect from Martha Stewart.

Simple instructions. I got all the info I needed got spring planting & winter care.

An excellent book with just what i was looking for- plant compatibility information, soil, lighting etc. It's a small book, but, jam packed with excellent information.

did not meet expectations. hardly any photographs or pictures. wish i hadn't brought it.

雑誌Martha Stewart Livingに掲載された、ガーデニング記事を再編集したもので、写真がきれいで、雰囲気があり、アメリカ風の庭造りに憧れている人が読むと参考になると思います。しかし、日本の平均的な庭のスケールを考えると、一般的な日本のガーデナーには、参考になるところは決して多くはない。ちなみに、有楽町のMartha Shopのガーデニングコーナーでは平積みになっていました。何かと大変な場面になっている彼女だが、日本でももっとポピュラーになって良いタレントだと思う。広めの庭があり、Martha大好きな人は買う価値があると思う。
