Let down by short straps
My eye was drawn to this handbag because it reminded me of a denim handbag I wore to pieces in the late 80s/early 90s and frankly, I fancied a casual, slouchy shoulder bag for a change. This bag is almost it and is probably as close as I'm going to get to my old bag.Firstly, it's better made than I expected given recent disappointments looking for a holiday/summer bag. Both the material and the workmanship are good. The outer canvas is nice and sturdy, and cotton feeling. The inner linings are of well chosen materials. The zip and poppers are good. It's not an expensive bag but it doesn't feel cheap and doesn't make weird noises. The dimensions are true and within this context the design makes it more capacious than you'd expect. There are some issues, the main one being that the straps really are too short. There isn't a woman alive who won't want to put this style of bag on her shoulder in order to free up both hands, at least some of the time. I am as my reviewer name suggests and whilst I CAN get this bag onto my shoulder wearing my smooth, ie non-puffer, coat it would be more comfortable if the straps were about 4" longer. I doubt a large woman or duvet coat enthusiast could do this at all. There is an additional zipped pocket INSIDE the middle zipped section. At first I was delighted to see this but was soon crestfallen as it is stupidly shallow. Let's put it this way: were in 1/2 as deep again it would fit my pretty standard-sized glass case; it would need to be twice as deep to accommodate my pocketbook. Aesthetically, I'd like the whole bag to be a little shallower (less tall). There's something about the ratio that's just slightly off and because it's just slightly off it's more noticeable iyswim. The design is clever enough that it'd still be roomy enough a little less tall. It's a good size for when you're through with lugging everyone else's stuff "just in case" when you just want to spend a long day out pottering. In fact, it could be made a little shorter in order to completely prevent this scenario. See where I'm heading?Look, I like this bag enough to order new, longer handles from a well-known crafting materials supplier and get my local cobbler to sew them on. I'd still probably have done so had I been able to handle the item before purchase because I've not seen a casual bag I've really liked for a few summers now. Did I mention that the colour is really nice? Despite my criticisms I do like this one and am looking forward to wearing it more comfortably as soon as my new handles arrive. It's a shame that such a small design miscalculation will probably cost sales of an otherwise nice bag (and no, I don't want a cross body shoulder strap, just handles long enough to comfortably slide onto my shoulder). As a final aside to the "it looked bigger" comments, I think that the seller has done a decent job of photoing the kinds of things that fit in the bag instead of just photoshopping stuff out of scale near the bag. When I finally enact my master plan to become empress of the galaxy everyone will be issued with a tape measure. Since I am benevolent by nature not only will I ban misleading, out of scale photo-concoctions, I will give everyone a whole month to learn how to work their tape measure. Anybody found posting "it looked bigger/smaller" comments anywhere online after that will be hunted down....

Not really what I thought
When the bag came I was disappointed with the size, it wasn’t very deep or big in length so did not fit everything I needed it.. Also the straps are not very long.. however it is okay for a temporary bag until I find something more suitable!

Great bag...roomier than you think!
I love this bag. It is roomier than you think to look at it. The three sections are really useful, especially the central zipped section. It is lightweight and very comfortable to wear/carry on your shoulder. I loved it so much I returned to buy a red one too!

Crafting base bag perfect
I brought this bag as a crafting project and as a base it’s perfect I love the pockets and the space that it gives you and the material is perfect for iron on or sewing on to.As is it’s ok a little externally boring but it has a classic look to it
