Makes Reading History Fun Age 8-12
30 page soft book in a kid friendly size, presents the history subject with relatable wording, and most sections are 1 page of text and 1 page of photo/drawing/graphics. I would recommend this for ages 8-12. I purchased several books on The Colonies and American Revolution for 10 yo homeschool, and this is probably my favorite for catching the interest of my kid. We could get through this in 1 longer session, or split it up over 2-3 days of short lessons. I'll be looking for the 5 other history books from this Capstone FactFinders set.

Great history for 9 and 10 yr old kids
Great for my 9 yr old grandson and his 11 yr old sister. It tells a version of history that his teacher will never present in classroom. It kept his interest throughout the entire book.

Fun addition to my Colonial America lessons!
I have given this book only 4 stars because I wish there was a bit more to it; however, I have enjoyed using this book in the classroom for my middle level students during our Colonial America unit. They found it interesting, to say the least. One of my students even referred to the book in his final exam essay, which pleased me tremendously! I recommend this book for young adults and upper elementary.

Salute to the Articles of Daily Life We Now Have!
Little known facts about the lives of the Colonials who inhabited the Eastern portion of the U.S. Deodorant, toileting, personal hygiene and the like were far into the future, waiting to change the scent of daily life. Deodorant, soaps and detergents that smell fresh and pleasant, daily bathing, among many other countless items we take for granted in the 20th - 21st centuries was not available to our forefathers and their families. The Colonies must have indeed, been smelly.

If your over 6 years old pass this one up.
If you're 6 years old or under this will entertain you - any older and this book will tell you nothing that you don't know or can surmise on your own. I'm donating mine to the children's section of my local library so I don't believe it was a complete loss.

Not what I expected
Should have been listed as children's literature. Should have said how many (few) pages and illustrated. The experience of disappointment is as bad as the title. It was like buying something dirty and smelly (ugh!whew!) when I expected nice perfume. Totally disappointed. If I did not spend mney for it I would have thrown it into the dirty, smelly garbage dumpster.
