Razer Kraken Tournament Edition - Still Going Strong
Razer Kraken Tournament Edition - Still Going Strong I’ve been wearing these Razer Kraken Tournament Edition headphones for quite some time now, and I can confidently say they’re still going strong. What more needs to be said? These headphones continue to deliver fantastic performance, even with so many newer models out there. Superior Quality In my opinion, these headphones outperform many modern gaming headsets. The quality of gaming headsets seems to have taken a hit over the years, but the Kraken Tournament Edition still holds up, offering excellent sound clarity and build. If you can get your hands on one of these older models, you're in luck. The open soundstage is impressive, and it’s clear that Razer focused on delivering an immersive audio experience. Surprising for Audiophiles What’s even more surprising is that, as a gaming headset, the sound is good enough that even audiophiles on a budget could get some use out of them. The sound is balanced, with decent bass, clear mids, and crisp highs. It’s not often you see a gaming headset that could actually satisfy someone with a more refined ear. Final Thoughts These headphones have lasted me far longer than many newer gaming headsets, and their performance has remained top-notch. If you’re lucky enough to find a pair, it’s worth picking them up, especially if you’re looking for a headset that combines solid gaming audio with a quality that still holds up today. 5/5 Stars: If you can find one of these, grab it. They’re a hidden gem in a sea of lower-quality modern headsets.

An upgrade from Logitech....
Absolutely loving the headset. Prior to this I had the Logitech G433 which honestly was also brilliant for its sound and especially the mic. The difference between them is the Razer Kraken TE is a lot more comfortable and feels a lot more professional and more designed for gaming. It is bulky and heavy which isn't a bad thing since it adds to the comfort around your head and ears. Very well padded. The sound quality is also fantastic however it may take a day to get used to as it does not sound like any other gaming headset I've used. Love the neat addition of the Game/Chat mixer. Saves a lot of time as I no longer need to go into discord (my primary communication app) and individually adjust people's volume whenever I change games. Very good at blocking noise around you as well. The mic is fabulous with its neat pull out design. A little quieter than Logitech's but definitely gets the job done. If you have a habit of keeping one ear open at times you may find it a bit tricky at first as the headset may just slide off due to how big it is. Only downside is how long the cables are.... Overall very satisfied by this upgrade from Logitech. 5/5

Comfy stylish and great sound quality.
Bought the Kraken tournament edition on a good deal price when I was looking for a headset with USB controller. This a very comfortable headset to wear for, I've worn it with glasses on and for up to 4hr periods. No discomfort at all or gotten sweaty ears. Sound quality is fantastic for games, for music is kind of hit and miss but you'll get a software equaliser to tune it to your own preferences. The headset it's open back so you'll hear your surroundings quite clearly. Friends have complimented on mic quality being great but really needs a pop filter as 's' sounds will cause discomfort to people listening. 7.1 surround sound sort of does work but somewhat of a gimmick since it's emulated in software, none the less quite cool to have anyway. Build quality and presentation I'm happy with it. However cables do seem a bit on the thin side so time will tell how long these will last... My last Razer product was around 9 years ago now which was me deliberately staying away from them and moving to Logitech since my Razer purchases always seemed to fail soon after the warranty expires. I had a range of their mice, keyboards and controllers. EDIT: Dec 2021 I'm still using this headset but as expected of Razer, these are starting to show signs of failing. In my case, it's definitely the cable and depending on what I have on the volume controller dial it can sometimes cut off audio in my right ear cup.

Happy Gamer
Picked this up from Amazon Warehouse during one of their sale events and boy, what a buy Arrived and could tell it had been opened but not used. Set up was incredibly easy. Just plug into the Xbox controller and done. Now, on the first few goes my teenage gamer complained the sound was very tiny, he could hear background noise and said it wasn't good and needed to go back. Didn't really want to do that as there were none left in stock by this time so I checked online to see if anyone else has the same issue. People did! And there was a fix! Wooo So, went into Xbox settings and changed 'something'. Sound was now brilliant and he could no longer hear any background noise & and he could hear footsteps in game to get that all important win. Brilliant headset, looks great, comfortable etc If I needed to get another headset, I'd happily get another one

You need to get this Headset!
Honestly, these are one of the best headsets i’ve ever used and here’s why. Pros - > Comfy > Fits Perfectly & can be adjusted. > Mic is Extendable and can be hidden, very useful especially for people who find it distracting. > Audio is crispy clear & i can hear footsteps and even breathing in some games! > The Amplifier has a sticky side when you peel off the sticker for better cable management & easy access. > Usb & a 3.5mm Jack support for both PC & consoles! and even older generation phones and i’m sure nintendo switch. You can switch between the two, i use these for professional gaming on the playstation with the usb connection and they work perfectly. Cons - > The Amplifier/Control Box Mute button is quite buggy with the PS4/5, when you mute with the box you have to unplug it and plug it back in to unmute. For the conclusion to this is because you’re supposed to use the 3.5 mm jack for consoles but i prefer usb for free movement. Other than that, the headset is brilliant and worth every penny, if correctly looked after it could last years.

The razer Kraken Tournament Edition, very sharp headset.
Re revised review. Kraken Tournament Edition Xbox one ps4 wii u and pc tested. Nice clear speech bothways Good volumes nice and loud. No distortion when you crank up your fav shooter and nice quality on adventure games. The THX dongle for pc (does work on ps4 as a amped headphone) so a little louder than just plugging in the controller, although that's loud anyway. Good all rounder tested with dolby atmos and worked a treat on xbox and Netflix atmos supported movies. Many times in online multiplayer shooters I have spun round and killed players because this headset allowed me to hear them coming. Always a plus. Comfort. Light, comfy cool gel earphones, glasses wearers these are excellent to, over head band you forget is there no over sweat issues either. Durability these will last as long as you look after them, a lot of metals in the build quality, shame the cable isn't removable incase the wire was ever damaged but not an issue here. On pc you may find the mic doesn't work when you plug in your USB THX dongle, Please install razers synapse software to control the headsets volumes and features and all is perfect. Hope that's helps, anyone that reads my reviews know I'm harsh on items and know what I'm on about, I've been in the electronics game years and know quality wise what's good. These are good. I give overall 8/10 as always room for improvement. A good solid buy.

Very good headset
This headset is very nice, however it does lack sound quality when using the sysnapse THX spatial sound, i managed to overcome this by using the dolby atmos for headphones drivers (notes these cost an additional £15) but in my opinion this headet paired with those audio drivers is well worth it. They are incedibly comfortable, most headphones/headsets i have tried hurt your head after long periods of wearing them and must be broken in slowly, however these are perfectly comfable for hours of gaming right out the box. Pros: - Very good sound quality (with dolby atmos drivers) - Extremely comoftable - Lots of controls - High quality and great build (mostly metal) - Easy setup Cons: - Short cable between usb sound card/control hub (bad for cable management) - Out of the bos drivers (synapse THX spatial sound) is not very good (reccomend using dolby atmos for headphones) - Microphone is a bit wobbly (however it does retract)

Wear it for hours and forget it is there!
This headset is extremely comfortable and the cooling gel is really noticeable. The glasses cutout is not noticeable for normal users but great for glasses users. The sound quality is amazing and the THX surround sound spatial audio is really effective and is very cool! The controller is very helpful when playing a game and you are unable to hear your friends in discord or the voice chat you are using as you can simply turn their voices up with the controller, the bass boost controls are noticeable if needed but on standard settings the bass is great. The razer synapse app is great and everything is very customisable, e.g. (spatial audio for individual apps, full mixer, enhancement for voice clarity and enhancements, EQ for different settings of sounds and a great microphone setting.) The only downside to this headset is the razer synapse app can be fairly persistent when asking you to do a quick update very occasionally, this doesn't bother me much though and the notifications can be turned off in system settings. I do recommend this headset for a high-quality gaming headset! Very nice
