People Don't Bite People (The People Books)

We were having problems with my daughter biting kids at daycare. Santa drop this book off for us before Christmas since she had gotten on the naughty list for biting. Lol. She has not bitten anyone since. Don’t know if it was the book or because it was from Santa.

We were having problems with our 16 month old biting her older sister and me (her mom) when she would get mad or frustrated, since she can’t fully talk yet. About a week after we started reading her this book, we noticed the biting was over. She’s 19 months now and she still needs a reminder every now and then because she’ll bite her own arm when she gets frustrated. Then we say “Biting is for ——“ and she’ll say “food” and quit biting herself. The critiques I have about this book are: it’s pretty tall/wide. I didn’t look at the dimensions prior to buying it. Also it has paper pages instead of hard pages, so my little one ripped a page. They’re pretty hard on books at this age so you’d think it would be hard. Overall, glad I bought it and I will pass it along to friends who have biters!

I liked how easy to read to toddlers

This book is adorable and perfect for a 2 year old. So happy with this!

We got this last year when my two year old went though a biting phase. We read it every night we had a biting incident (along with a discussion about why we don't bite), and it really helped. He followed along very well and even asks to read it on his own sometimes a year later.

This book absolutely helped us stop our 2 year old's habit of biting us or themselves when frustrated. 100% recommend this book. I would skip reading the last page however because it confused my kid the first time we read it so after that we ended the book a page early and it was perfection! Thankful for this book to help! Literally went from biting when frustrated to zero biting incidents in a matter of days of reading it before bed. Has not bitten since and we have had this book for over 6 months now.

This book is very cute and gets the message across well to toddlers. I know this may not be the norm, but my child really did stop biting after reading this book nonstop for 2 weeks!

Lovely rhyming book

Nice book with humorous and catchy reading

I bough this book for my 20 month old granddaughter. She seemed facinated on first read and wanted to hear it over and over. I like it because it takes what can be a challenging subject and effectively lightens it up with fun and cheerful rhymes. There are assumptions made in the book that don't fit for our family. My granddaughter is an only child-the book talks about a sister and brother. My suggestion would be to use the word "friend" or say "If you have a......" Also the author slips from a non-judgemental tone when she uses the word "bad" at one point. The illustrations are colourful and bold and support the storyline. I was delighted to find this book.

We picked up a copy from the library and our kids had the rhymes stuck in their head so fast that we just had to buy it.The illustrations are fun and well-connected to the text. The text is funny and memorable; it's very engaging when each page has just enough pictures and text that your kids aren't pushing to flip the page too soon or too late.I hope there are no concerns with me using the one rhyme/phrase that my girls LOVE to quote:People don't bite people! It's nasty and it's rude!A friend would never bite a friend, biting is for food.Our toddlers HAD a biting problem, but since we picked up this book and really reinforced it they have stopped. I sincerely hope some similar books can come out about other toddler behaviours to help there too, we would definitely buy again and highly recommend if you have toddlers who like to bite.Love it!
