Boat Life Sealant Lifeseal Tube

The product was delivered quickly. As advertised.

I'm giving this a 2 star rating because I've been using this product for years with good results but the last tube I got through Amazon not only didn't do it's job, it caused me a LOT of unnecessary work, grief and money. I'm restoring an old fiberglass sailboat, just like I've done many times before. I always rebed all of the hardware on these boats and I usually use this product. In fact, I had already rebed many cleats, blocks etc. on this boat with the same product with good success until I opened the Amazon tube (batch 019230, made 01/2019). I used it to caulk all the hardware on the transom, rudder, motor mount, boarding ladder which are VERY difficult to access and in 3 weeks time, the product never cured. I heated my garage for days. I had to have friends come over to help, twice since it all had to come apart again. All for nothing. Another big mess to clean up, including $35 worth of stainless steel nuts, bolts and washers. I contacted the company who was convinced it was my poor job of prep that caused the problem but I say BS to that. One item was held on with 3 screws. I ran out of an old tube on screw #1 which cured right up but not screws #2 and #3 that didn't cure in 3 weeks. The company just kept making me jump through hoops and never did even say "we're sorry you've had a bad experience with our product". FYI, I squeezed some out onto the carboard package it came in just to disprove the 'bad prep' theory and it didn't cure up either. I'm reluctant to use this again but it I do I can gaurantee you I will test it on the day before before I spend days doing a job just to have to do it all again because it didn't cure in the 24 hours they claim it should.

My boat place told me to get this, works great, the date good (fresh stuff) will last for a while

used to use Boat Life back in the day when I built sailboats professionally; now use it for all the toys in my retired life - seal it once and forget it (where with straight Silicone, you'll have to re-do it every year, at least)

Opened package 2 weeks after delivery and found 4 out of 4 tubes were 20% solid at base of tube. Very old stock. Unfortunately, no way to date them. will not order these on-line again.

A great product. Would be 5 stars except I received a tube that is 3 months beyond expiration date, however the tube feels soft so I'll keep it.

Tube only has 5 months left before expiration date. A label was placed over the original date that when removed, it took off the original date.

Great product for use in marine thru-hull fittings and any thing you want to seal. This sealant is comparable to 3M marine sealants and adhesives. I have used both and they are almost the same to me.
