Really excellent for dyeing and conditioning
Third time I'm ordering this, it is good value for money, arrives quickly on Prime and is excellent if you know how to use it. Indigo can be used as a dye as well as conditioner. It is the famed "Neeli" of Neelibringhadi oil. As a dye, it imparts a light blue shade to white hair, darkens brown hair and gives a blue black sheen to black hair. I use it after dyeing with henna, it darkens the horrible orange shade that henna gives, to a very dark brown/black. Indigo also counters the roughness that henna gives and turns hair soft and shiny. When I was using only henna, my hair was really dry and unmanageable. I never mix henna and indigo, it does not really work. Instead, I apply henna one day, wash it off, and apply indigo the next day.How to use : This is really important, otherwise, you will get no colour, just the conditioning effect. Sift indigo powder (I use about 3-4 Tbsp for medium length hair). Mix with enough warm water for a thick paste. It should not drip freely from the brush, but should be thin enough to apply smooth and thick on the hair. Leave it for 10 minutes. Then add 1/2 tsp table salt and mix well. You can even add the salt to the water and then mix into the powder at the begining. The salt will release the colour. It has never worked for me without this step, it will only work as a conditioner without salt. Wait about 10 to 15 minutes, you will see a blue colour start to appear on the surface or the edges. If not, add a quarter tsp more salt and mix. As soon as the colour start appearing, apply on hair. If you leave the mix for a long time before applying, the colour will not stick to your hair. Leave on hair for at least two hours. Wash with plain water or use a little shikakai or Rita to rinse. Do not shampoo, either after henna or indigo application, for 12 to 24 hours. The colour on your hair oxidises and darkens considerably in this time and shampoo will ruin the process.Unlike henna, you can happily rub indigo into the roots and scalp. It is good for skin, dandruff etc. It gives a slightly greyish colour to the scalp, but it's hardly noticeable after washing and it makes you hair look fuller, especially if you have thinning hair.I'm putting in this detailed review because I saw some saying there was no colour. But this is the best I have used and I especially like that it stays fresh in an airtight container and gives colour till the powder runs out. One problem with indigo is, it has a sort shelf life and will get oxidised if exposed to air. You can still use it as a conditioner, but it will not give colour if the powder is old and not stored properly.I hope this was useful. Happy colouring!

Hair colour
It gives hair black color. But every time you wash your hair the color gets washed off. Good if you use it with greater frequency.

Good Product To Black Hair Color - Not A Good Product To Black Hair
In the past strongly recommended product to black hair. This time opened the packing and used the product 4 days back,1st time since it purchase. Sorry to write that this product has given multiple colors i.e. Blast of Purple, Green, Blue but not Black. 2 persons pointed out the same in the gathering and it was a very embarrassing. Better stop selling it and prevent spoiling of hair of forthcoming customers.Manufacturer must see into the quality aspect before selling it to other Amazon Customers.

Caused severe headache
Very bad product. Does not list all ingredients. It is not pure indigo powder. Causes severe headache everytime I use it. I have used indigo powder from other brands and have not faced this problem. Really don't know what ingredient they have added that causes such severe side effect.

One Of The Best Indigo Powder For Hair
This is by far one of the best powders i have used for my hair. Many people have given it a bad review stating its not pure Indigo and I agree that its not 100% indigo powder. But the seller has clearly mentioned in the product description and the back of the cover that its a mix of all natural powder that benefit the hair. So just because they haven't read the product description they cannot blame the seller for this. This powder has a cooling effect as soon as its applied, which is very relaxing. And as far the the quality of the indigo, I can vouch that its pure indigo cause sometime after application there is a violet sheen on the mask indicating it's authenticity (see pic). Anyone who uses indigo knows that pure indigo gets a violet sheen after some time of mixing. Definitely on my reorder list :)

Very good product
Had been using another brand for some time and purchased this first time. I was pleasantly surprised that the product was so good. Coloured my hair quite well Doesn't smell strong like other brand and leaves the hair moisturised and shiny.
