Good prep. Terrible typos.
Most of the typos seem like an issue between the file and the printer. It is quite distracting.

To prepare the student to do his/her best for the certification.
At FSW we, 6 students, failed the test for certification. Later on, someone told me about this textbook, which not even my professor nor the dean of the human services department knew about... nobody should feel like he/she is a failure without gotten the proper preparation and education for any test.

It's fine. It's a college book, so you know...not the most fun. It is very helpful though

Informative
A pertinent review of human services principles in an easily understood format. The multiple choice presentation allows the reader to contemplate their own knowledge, and the explanation of correct versus incorrect answers enhances reflection and promotes insight. A good way to self-test before an exam.

Good for a laugh, not for passing your HSBCP-E
I purchased this study guide in preparation for the HSBCP-E on the recommendation of the Human Services Director of my university. For several weeks, our class drilled the class with scenarios from this textbook. Unfortunately, there was NOTHING in the textbook that prepared me for the exam. I was very fortunate to pass the exam, but no thanks to this text. If you want to read a humorous book, Dr. Rosenthal's book is fine. If you want to understand and PASS your HSBCP-E, do yourself a favor - pay attention and take notes in every one of your Human Services core classes. Take those notes and make your own study guide.

I have enjoyed having the book the study
The book kept on track about all the Human Services questions that could be on the test. I have enjoyed having the book the study.
