Vision Impossible: A Psychic Eye Mystery

A Reworked Character That Works
Abby Cooper is psychic. She started out as a psychic to private clients in Detroit, stumbling over murders and using her abilities to solve the crime. That was until she met "Dutch" Rivers, FBI agent and her whole life has changed. From private psychic to the FBI's newest civilian profiler is certainly a change and Abby's not sure she's going to be able to handle it.Especially when her new assignment involves top secret military weapons which have been stolen and are on their way to being sold to terrorists. The two previous FBI agents did not make it back from their assignment to find the weapon, and now it's Dutch's turn, and Abby is going along to use her abilities to track it down. Will she be able to pull it off, or will her psychic abilities fail her at the most important moment.SPOILER ALERT = = = SPOILER ALERT = = = SPOILER ALERT= = =DO NOT GO FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS BOOK/THE EARLIER BOOKS IN THIS SERIES OR HER GHOST HUNTER SERIES, AS I COMMENT ON ALL OF THEM.Highlights:The one thing this author has been able to do, which is very difficult as readers can get very involved with a character, is to have completely changed Abby. She started out as a psychic in Detroit who had private clients, occasionally helped the police and flipped houses on the side, now she lives in Texas and works for the FBI.Some people may not like the change, but it is certainly more successful than the complete change Victoria Laurie made to her other series, "Ghost Hunters" where she dropped the best character, added a jerk and had everyone else appear to be nuts. The story was interesting if a little confusing, I couldn't keep some of the bad guys straight.I really like Abby, although I think she acted a little scattered in this story.Lowlights:I don't read spy thrillers for a reason, I don't like them, so this storyline itself was disappointing. I'm kind of worried with Abby working for the FBI, as they don't usually have a lot to do with everyday murders.Stupid things that are done, just to have a joke later in the book. Wig - Didn't all of you who read the book think "Why didn't they dye her hair?" the minute she got the wig?Milo - Some people pick up these books out of sequence, and if you hadn't read the earlier books, you not only wouldn't have known who Milo was but more importantly, how he was able to send her all that money, and it wasn't explained.I still enjoyed this book and am looking forward to her future books.

Vision Impossible - Maybe Not!!
I am a not negative person, but above all I am an honest one. This review isn't going to be all love, there comes a time when you need to tell the truth, even if it hurts.I love this series and after getting over my initial shock of intuitive Abigail Cooper becoming a spy, I enjoyed the book. The concept seemed implausible when I began the novel, but then I remembered why I was reading it in the first place; to escape, to enter a world not of my own and just go along for the ride. And I did, free falling out an airplane with Abby. We both lived through the experience.Yes, certain things are a bit beyond belief and she does get some facts wrong, but I grew up in the NOVA (Northern Virginia) region of the country right outside of D.C. and I am used to people getting the city wrong. Way wrong.. and yes, I have complained. The next thing however is I do is to go back to my theater days and remember that old fourth wall. The invisible wall that tells you to suspend disbelief and lets you know this isn't reality. In turn, you let yourself enter the world that the author creates for you. Over the course of the last eight novels, fans like myself have gotten used to the world she created and when things were being stretched I stayed with it, because I loved the characters and the world. She changed the world and I went along with it.The problem that I think many readers including myself have is that we didn't have a chance acclimate ourselves to Austin before we were whisked off on a spy adventure. The carefully crafted world present in the previous novels wasn't as well put together in this one. Readers took notice and responded. If you love Abby, I mean really love her, you will love this book, but if you are the person that only kind of loves her or is non-committal, you might not love it. You may only like it.

You just can’t put a book like this down!
5 starsThis is the ninth book in the Psychic Eye mystery series by Victoria Laurie.Abby is called in to help bring back the surveillance system that can see a specific person’s aura. It is kind of like a DNA fingerprint. No two auras are the same. Dutch goes in undercover with her along with an agent named Frost. Things go wrong almost from the time their airplane hits the tarmac. This mystery is really good. All of the stories crafted by Victoria Laurie seem to be just stellar. I am so engrossed. In fact, the reason I am reading this book is that I just had to read another Laurie book after reading the last one on my TBR. They are just addicting. You just can’t put a book like this down.I had to read it straight through. So wonderful. Love this series. Highly recommended. Love both of her series and suggest them to everyone. If you like cozy mysteries, you won’t be disappointed in this series. Take a deep dive into this fantastic series!

Such a shame
Perhaps it's just me, but I'm afraid I found this book had such an unbelievable premis, (that the security services would send a psychic undercover to retrieve a top secret weapon,) that I couldnt get on with the book at all, despite enjoying the other books in the series. A real disappointment.

Psychic eye series
Great series. Totally enjoying wondering what Abigail will get up to next. Every book is different so doesn't lose its novelty. Would thoroughly recommend. Great holiday reads
