Official Guide to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

My daughter offered her 12-year-old daughter a choice for their vacation this year: Walt Disney World or Washington, DC. She opted for D.C., mainly for two reasons: The Smithsonian and The National Air and Space Museum. So Grandma, not wanting her to miss a thing, bought her half a dozen D.C. travel guides and maps. She said this was one of her favorites, because it helped her to know just what she should look for and what not to miss.

This book tries to capture spirit as well as fact in the air and space collection, and some technical fans may be mildly disappointed.I would give five stars but as an official guide limited to balanced treatment of personalities and ideas as well as achievements, it should acknowledge the need for further supplements.Highly recommended as a guide for the new and refresher for museum veterans.

My son LOVES the space museum. The guide book seemed to have a much larger focus on the aviation exhibits as opposed to the space exhibits, but it was a hit in our house nonetheless. Full color details of all the exhibits. It's not a tour guide, but it gives great descriptions of all the exhibits.

Purchased as a gift to a home bound friend.He loves it!

This is a great guide to the Air and Space,pick this up before yougo, as a little warmup to an overwhelming experience,or evenif you can't go,get an idea of what you missed!

This book was bought as a present for my husband so I can't give a personal opinion, save to say that he's had his nose stuck in it since I gave it to him and he says it's exactly what he wanted.
