The mount looks just like it's picture.
I have not checked the SWR settings on this mount yet, but if there is a problem with it, I will update after I check them. I'm pretty sure this could hold an elephant on the roof of my van. Super strong magnetic mount! I have another one similar to this one and it has seen speeds of 95MPH+ without so much as a wiggle. I expect the same from this mount. If it does blow off at highway speeds, I will update my review at that time. So far, I am very satisfied. I like the triangle mounts with a real 5 inch magnet on each corner. I wouldn't trust the smaller ones. So far, this one is a thumbs up!!

Very satisfied with this magnetic mount.
Very satisfied with this magnetic mount. It is a bit large but that is what I needed. The magnets stick extremely well to the top of a truck body (take about 45 lbs of force to begin lifting off one edge). The magnets are also covered with a rubber protective boot so that will help keep scratches to a minimum. I removed the antenna base which leaves a 1/2" X 1/2" square hole and installed a safety warning flag. The base the magnets are bolted too is 7/32" thick steel and nicely chrome plated as are the magnet cups. This base is better quality and less cost than the other magnetic safety warning flag bases sold here on Amazon.

Works much better
Got this after a single magnet mount indicated a high SWR and higher resonant frequency with my Chameleon 17' whip. Handy for POTA when I don't want to get out of the vehicle much.

Very strong magments, but easily removed from auto surface. Strongly recommend.
I was concerned that the magnets were TOO strong. They are VERY strong indieed, but if you lift up one of the 3 magnets, it lifts off the metal with no scratching. Great mount. Suggestion: Be sure to wipe off any dirt on roof where you plan to mount this to avoid any possibility of scratching the paint by grinding in surface dirt. I use this with MFJ HamStick antennas, it works great, and with an antenna analyzer, it's easy to get 1::1 SWR using the hamstick adjustments. I added a sheet of instructions for the Hamstick type antennas to use with this mount. Dr. T.

Good magnet
I like this product. It holds good at 90 mph. Only thing I don’t like is that the rubber coating that protects the magnet from scratch in your vehicle leaves a black residue on your hands when you have to remove them

Works great
I drive a Subaru Crosstrek, which provides limited space nor adequately-shaped surfaces to accommodate many 3/8x24 antenna mounts, let alone those with decent coupling to the vehicle's body. I ordered this mag mount with an understanding of its limitations and plans to test it using a friend's vector analyzer. I initially planned to use a set of Hamstick knockoffs, but upgraded to a manual screwdriver antenna after making my first few contact—that's a story for another review.Bottom line, my experience with this mount has been excellent. I'm running a 20W portable 160-10m rig, primarily making phone contacts on 40/20/17m. The mount is centered on the roof, and I put a scramble-wound choke in the coax where it enters the vehicle. I haven't had experienced common mode problems at such low power, but the choke made a noticeable improvement in VSWR.There are numerous disparaging remarks about these mounts floating around the usual interweb ham opinion vaults. It's always possible to sink more time and money into a better signal. I'm happy with what I've got. Mobile HF performance is based on any number of factors. YMMV.Btw, these mounts are tough to remove. I cut the plastic overwrap it came packed in to size, the placed it between the magnets and the body of my car to facilitate sliding off the mount without damaging the paint. We'll see how well that works.Drive safely and have fun.

Take a chance if you want.
I wish I could give this better than three stars, but I can't. The overall build quality is great, it is very heavy based on how it looks in the pictures expected to be difficult to move especially when you put it on a nice flat surface and need to get it to release to move it. The biggest issue that I had with this is that I could not get my SWR readings anywhere close to even below 3. I took the connectors apart double checked everything it all seems to be okay added a little bit of ground thinking maybe that was the problem I don't even ran a ground strap from the mounts to the chassis thinking maybe that what's the issue but still did not get my SWR below 3. For the price of this item versus just buying a regular 3 inch piece of flat steel and mounting an antenna and many other places I was quite disappointed with this. But I will not go any lower than three stars because even though it did not work great right now I may be able to change out the coax cable and still have it to use as another option later down the road. Definitely will not be throwing it away since it cost so much money to buy it
