The Complete Photo Guide to Art Quilting

The title doesn't tell the whole story. Yes, it does have great pictures, but the design ideas are the real stars. Many techniques I've seen used, but wasn't sure how to incorporate into designs. Using color, lines, texture, text, layering, plus loads of other details. Lots of info on stitching and about 20 pages on finishing the quilt (usually wrapped up in about 2 pg). This is about art quilts, not traditional piecing, uses a lot of abstract ideas, but techniques are always easily transferred by the artist to use to their particular genre. Thick book, 220 pages. Terrific addition to your collection.Everything is beautifully illustrated with pictures ( thus the title) !*Comment on all used books I've purchased on Amazon, dozens. They have almost always been in new condition, even when they say "good". Very pleased with service from all vendors!

This is the best art quilt book I’ve ever bought. It has over 200 pages and I’m sure I’ve flagged at least 100 of them. If you are looking for inspiration for your own creations, this is the one to get!

The author takes you on a journey of exploration as she shares new techniques for creativity. I have an extensive library of craft books and this is one of the best, I am glad to add this to my wealth of knowledge and inspiration as I am led to explore newavenues in quilting..

I love detail pictures and directions. I am not sure if I will use all in my quilts but it leads me to express so much more. So much freedom- like to fly! No boundrysOne can play off any of these examples,

The colors! The information! The ideas! Wow! A VERY detailed and inspiring book. The book encourages you to break the rules and enjoy the results. This book is not to be shared with friends. They need to get their own copy!

I was very pleased with this book. I love almost all quilts but the freedom of expression in making an original art quilt is my ideal. This will be my 'go-to' resource for so many aspects of making art quilts.

This book covers a large variety of art quilting designs and techniques. A great reference guide with inspiring and expanding examples that help to reinforce confidence in art quilting.

I own a lot (and I mean a quilter's stash) of quilting books and this is one of the best. Full of well-explained techniques and lots of illustrations. I got it from the library and had to own it myself. It will be a reference tool for me for a long time.
