Extraordinarily beautiful book with many plates of paintings in the National Museum in Delhi that were previously unpublished. The text is well written and informative. If you are unfamiliar with ragas in their painted form this is a wonderful way to start. If you have many other books on the same subject this would be a worthy addition.It is full of visual pleasure. The text is equally valuable for the beginner and the more advanced rasika.Deccani miniatures have some of the most poetic color of all miniatures. There are miniatures from other areas of India as well.Highly recommended.
